Toy Boat is a fun place to frequent. I haven't explored everything they have to offer, but I do love their chocolate cake with a passion. It's super rich and chocolaty, and the cake is pretty much the only reason I make the trip out there. Go and eat cake. Review #18141

Great place with a lot of character. Who wouldn't love to sit and eat ice-cream surrounded by toys? Brings you back to your childhood. Review #17543

The desserts (think ice cream) my friends and I ordered were nothing special. Like others say, there was nothing unique about it, and we could've gotten it at any other dessert cafe/shop. Review #16593

neutral for the ice cream and food, but kitschy and quirky for the toys and quarter-fed horsie ride for the kids. robin williams used to come here incognito for coffee when he used to perform at the former last day saloon. Review #16313

Snore...Yawn.... This place really needs a face lift. Yes, I love the mom and pop feel of it, but I would prefer it to be clean and better lit. In a street packed with establishments competing for our dollars, this place doesn't even want to try. Where's the effort guys? If you want a delicious dessert after gorging on any of the restaurants at Clement, I recommend hopping across the street to Genki crepes! Review #16210

Kushnir is my hero, I like his reviews, I agree with everything he said about Toy Boat. EXCEPT - Toy Boat deserves a neutral rating when they are performing at par. I've been here many, many times. Always for dessert. Usually just ice cream & a coffee. How badly can anyone screw up a cup of Dreyer's ice cream? Toy Boat doesn't, but they also do not do anything really well. I like looking at the toys up on the shelves more than eating here. The shop is not very clean. The furniture hasn't been replaced in 20 years. Still this place is an ice cream island surrounded by rice noodle houses. Take it for what it is... Review #16195

Well…….this place has survived 20+ years with the same limited menu of coffees, smoothies and sandwiches. It's a sandwich shop that does a passable job on sandwiches but a failing job on ice cream. If you have your heart set on a stellar ice cream dessert than, pass on by, and go somewhere else. The place appears confused in what it wants to be when it grows up. They are open for and thru dinner if you want to grab a shake or a piece of pie. It seems a little out of place in a sea of asian places and the afternoon we walked in, it greeted us with an empty place with worn out decorations from a bad Twilight Zone episode. Service was stalled, and the shakes proved not worth the expectations. They service brand x Ice cream, which explained the boring shake. Prices are normal so you don't feel ripped off, sorry, just ho hum……Parking, in your dreams. Review #16075

Small portions on the sundae's. Mediocre ice cream and needs some type of trademark dishes or flavors. Cool interior with lots of gifts. Review #15545

Not just ice cream serving here but sandwiches/wraps, breakfast food and smoothies. When I go grocery shopping in Clement, I come by here to grab some ice cream while walking around the neighborhood. I always get the vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunk and peanut butter swirl and it's real yummy. Review #15385

Sorry for being the first to give a negative review but this place is a ripped off. They dont have the best ice cream, so forget about the other stuff. The sundae is way below average taste and its way overpriced. I went there as i happened to be in the vicinity and couldnt find any other ice cream place near by. Review #12261

Yummy ice cream but the best thing of all is all of the (old and new school) toys on the walls and in cases and by the counter; some of them are even for sale. I especially liked "ex-boyfriend gum" and the Jesus action figure. Plus, it was open late (til 11pm, I think) on a Wed night and the servers were so very sweet. I also really love Butterscotch, the 25 cent mechanical horse that one can ride on. Very cool! Check it out and be happy. :) There are vegan cakes available as well as sandwhiches and smoothies and all sorts of things. The chocolate cake also looked devine but I resisted. Review #5152

Lots of quirky toys as decor. I was never too enticed by their dessert and food offerings, but it's a nice place to sit down and relax with a soothing cup of coffee or tea after a harrowing day of shopping on Clement. Review #3728

while i can't imagine making a date of this place, it's a good one to stop in for a quick treat. Sort of a 50's ice cream parlor meets 90's consumption with asian flair. Carried double rainbow ice cream when we were there. Review #3521

This is a nice little spot for more than just ice cream, although they do that superbly. They also have yummy baked treats, baking waffle cones fills the air and even make sandwiches. What is the most fun are all the vintage little toys around the shop, really takes you back. they have great hot fudge. Review #2826

I love this place. Little, fun & funky. I like to order a pot of tea and solve the Sunday Crossword, with a giant PeeWee Herman doll observing. Nice sandwiches, bagels and baked goods. Review #2717
