Not the best ethiopian food I've ever had but it wasn't disappointing, i think a lot of the restaurants on telegraph in Berkeley are better, more well seasoned, but i did like the special that i had which was a spicy mushroom wat, it really hit the spot. The service was a little slow even though the place was almost empty. Also the portions were a but small, I'm used to a veggie combo being enough for two people elsewhere. Review #16024

"The best authentic ethiopian food in San Francisco. I should know because I grew up eating it. The injera is by far the best in the bay area. Their service is okay but the food makes up for it. I recommend the chicken and mushroom dish and the vegetarian combo. It is usually not busy but avoid going there late on Friday and Saturday. It gets really packed and it can take long to get your order since they have to make it as it is ordered." Review #15750

Presentation of the food was wonderful but I didn't feel the food was as tasty as some other ethiopian places I've been to. I thought the food was a bit bland and not flavorful. Review #15680

This is one of my favorite restaurants in SF. I eat here all the time and never get tired of it. Great with a group, but if you go with just one other person, the thing to do is to order the zigni (which is the most delicious beef dish ever created), and then get the vegetarian combo, which lets you choose three of the vegetarian items. Lots of food for two people (under $20) and they aren't stingy with the injira either. Review #11760

First off, this is the only place I have been for ethiopian food and I have been there 3 or 4 times. I initially went with a friend whose husband is an ethiopian and he likes the place so that was good enough for me. Have always been there in a group of 4 to 6 and we would always order a smattering of dishes. Some were a bit too spicy for my palate but the others I enjoyed immensely. The decor is similar to low end chinese places and the service has never been what I would call friendly. Never asked if it was typical ethiopian in that respect, but never got the warm and fuzzy "we are so glad you are here" feeling. Spoiled by thai restaurants I guess. Anyway, it can take a while to get the food, so being in a hurry is not a good idea. Overall, I liked the food every time I went and would go back unless I was wanting a place with ambiance... It was good, just not as good as I had hoped. There has to be better ethiopian in San Francisco, and it can't be that the best ethiopian in the bay area was in San Jose and closed over a year ago... Review #7636

Good food. Atmosphere is very dull. But, food is good. Lots of veggie options. Imported ethiopian honey beer. Yum! Review #6505

Good but not great ethiopian food. The food is simple and plentiful but doesn't quite gel into a great dining experience. Perfect for casual eating in the Mission/ Valencia area. The lentils in particular are quite tasty. Review #4032

A good spot for ethiopian food in the Mission. Waitstaff were attentive and the food was good, not outstanding, but fulfilled my craving for ethiopian food. Review #2423
