“ We did dinner for four where we all ordered 2 things off of the starters menu. At first I thought that there wouldn't be enough, but it really worked out great and was lots of fun. Plus, they have a 20% your check on Tuesdays which was nice. Everything we ordered was really yummy and presented nicely. Decor is clean and calming. ”

“ I have lived in the city for 3 years and have passed Tangerine on an almost weekly basis but have never eaten there until the other night. The hostess greeted us promptly and offered us samplings of some of their wine (which was good - I had an organic Vegan Cabernet Sauvignon). We started our meal off with the Calamari App which came with a non traditional dipping sauce which resembled a vegetable stew. Super tasty and light. I had the Spare Ribs which were thick, juicy and soft. They came with a side of mashers and veggies. My wife had the Sea Bass. Both meals were amazing. Our waitress was top notch and our water glasses stayed full the whole meal. I have to give Tangerine two thumbs way up and I will definitely be returning. ”

“
Loverly! Honestly, you can see that Tangerine has put some effort into what they are offering. The ambience is nice and cozy, the menu is innovative without being totally out there, and the service is gay! What more can you ask for from a Castro restaurant? I've eaten here a couple of times and I must say that the fish is always good, but the steak is outstanding. Don't miss out on the creative appetizers! ”

“
Not bad. Traditional food made well, and with just a touch of the exotic for a nice flair. We went there for brunch and were all satisfied. The wait was ridiculously long, though--at least an hour. ”

“ Food is medicore. I thought the dishes were pretty elaborate in presentation and the service was very friendly. Otherwise, I thought the dishes were a bit bland or too saucy and sweet. I'm not a fan of sweetest in my savory dishes so I could be basis about this place. Everyone should try it out and on Tuesdays - 20% off the bill. ”

“ This is my new favorite restaurant. I had reservations for 6 people on a Friday night at 7pm but half of my party was running late. I called (at 6:45pm) & asked the restaurant if I could extend our reservation to 8pm. They were very accommodating. When we got there the place was packed. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table and the wonderful hostess (Kathleen?) actually apologized then brought our whole group complimentary glasses of wine. The food was amazing, I had the salmon that came with veggie sushi rolls and the plate was decorated with a wasabi cream daisy. They really won me over with the presentation, the attentive service and, of course, the excellent food ”

“ Great ambience. I love the clean look of the wood and white. The appetizers were tasty and beautifully presented but the entrees were lacking flavor. Seemed like a lot of oil instead of flavor. Might try it again but I didn't think it was great.

“ Nice, inexpensive restaurant for the portion you get. I love soft-shell crab , so we ordered that for an appetizer and it was fantastic, really crispy! I also ordered the Drunken Duck and that was really flavorful, gotta try that. They also have different specials offered on Monday-Thursday, another plus.. Extremely friendly service, Would really go again.

“ I never seem to get through the door for dinner, but I love the weekend brunches. Great tasty and interesting omletts, delicious salads and assorted poached egg dishes. Light and lemony hollandaise sauce. And outdoor tables. A great brunch for under $15.

“ The most delicious thing here is also one of the least expensive. Get the funky curried tofu/squash/veggie entrée. It is a ton of food and fun to eat because you keep unearthing different tidbits. Also, the tofu is nice and chewy -- just how I like it.

“ I have only been here for brunch. A good brunch it was. I had a delicious Croque Madame (which they called something else and I asked for the egg to go from monsieur to madame). The shoestring potatoes that came with it were limp and nasty, but the nice mixed green salad made up for this. My brunch partner enjoyed his selection as well. Alas the tea was cruddy, but overall it was a nice, reasonably priced brunch. ”

“ More asian fusion! And not the best, in my opinion. Super friendly staff and service, great soju cocktails (soju is korean sake) and all the food sounds interesting, but dissapoints or is unremarkable or tries too hard. Reasonably priced, but that doesn't really make up for the cuisine. I think the chef is over-eager to impress and hasn't fully thought through all of the dishes. ”

“ Tangerine is a unique dining experience that you can afford to go back to. A beautiful meal and a great value. The service was very friendly and made very good suggestions. I started out with the Tangerine Yam Cakes with Parmesan cheese and a pesto sauce. It was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. For my entrée I had the Salmon with Mango Salad, large salmon steak covered with a lovely mango salsa type “salad” and 6-8 veggie rolls on the side. The presentation was flawless, usually when you have an artful presentation the portion size suffers; this is NOT the case at Tangerine…you will leave full and satisfied. The Cuisine is described as pacific rim; I call it creative and delishes. Next time I want to try their brunch.

“ I was blown away by the, what I call “ART food”. It’s really impressive especially at the affordable prices. I’m a big meat eater and one of my test entrées is steak, often I’m disappointed but not at Tangerine, I would have to say, this is the best New York steak I have had this year. It was served with sautéed mushrooms and a delicious mashed yams that has a very sweet almost berry taste to them. Super yummy. One area for improvement is the Caesar salad, my large crouton was somewhat stale and I would prefer more Parmesan cheese and maybe it’s just me, but I like anchovies on the side. Over all a solid positive rating, incredible value for your money, I will definitely go back. Service is Excellent. ”

“ I will say that the service was very attentive and friendly. The prices are also reasonable – the whole meal was $80 w/ tip. However, the food left much to desire. We ordered oysters for the appetizer that were horrible. Both of our entrees had entirely too many flavors. We did not even order dessert, which means a lot in my book. I will also add that we had a very tasty Sunday brunch a couple of months back. If you go to Tangerine I suggest you check out the brunch and skip the dinner.

“ A great neighborhood restraurant, just a bit lower key atmosphere and price but a truly nice meal. Midweek deals on meals or drinks vary based on the day of the week. We recently returned and split two truly impressive fish dishes. The special, Link Cod with garlic sauce was heavenly. Portions are so big you can skip starters or take some home. ”
