“Worst sushi experience in SF. It took forever to be seated and served. We ordered IKURA maki, they used SUZIKO (not sushi quality salmon roe) instead of IKURA. It tasted awful and we were all very dissapointed. We went with group of 4 and ordered many different dishes, none of them were good. Will not go back!!!

“One of the rare places in the city that can deliver for Kaiseki (traditional japanese banquet). Unlike some crazy high-end places, you can specify how much you want to spend and Minako (owner and daughter of the chef) and chef will tailor to your budget e.g. $30 or $45 versus the standard $90 for Kaiseki.
Beautiful presentation. Innovative cuisine (unagi on marinated cucumbers served in a Martini glass, "tempura" of noodles wrapped around shrimp instead of standard tempura, delicious delicate sauces - yuzu oil or vinaigrette)
SLOW service but fine if you are doing the kaiseki b/c lots of food for your money.
Will accommodate your tastes - e.g. no raw for me, love chawanmushi (call and give them a heads up)
just writing this made me hungry. time to go and eat Kaiseki!

“Don't be fooled...
... by the funky 'dealer-laden' neighborhood. This is a true find in a rather rough mission street block. The sushi takes and improves on the traditions. A tuna poke special was served in a martini glass with two kinds of tobiko. Beautiful to look at and delicious too. sushi was served at a leisurely pace. Large portions, interesting presentation and an interesting and attentive waitress make this a nice mid-week spot. A great value too. Don't miss the bathroom which looks like you're in a surreal undersea room!”
“We mostly liked the food, but the service was rather unpleasant and very slow. Make sure to ask about the prices for appetizers before ordering, since they were quite a bit more expensive than we were expecting, and there were no prices on the menu. My brother got some saba that wasn't very fresh (he's a saba fiend, I won't touch the stuff). Other than that, we did like the food.”
“mid Jan '05: Last time I went I found a creepy crawly in m'food. They wre sweet about it but it was still- nasty!
First 2 times: Found the food to be wonderful. So many choices for my vegetarian self. A little bit expensive and hard to find parking as it's in the mission but wonderful food, sweet owner and waitress (the owner's daughter, if I remember correctly) and the best organic edamame I've ever had!”
