“ Raised on Gordo's burritos makes me a huge fan. They were my first burritos and still rank high on my list....yes, I have eaten all over the Mission and in Oakland and down the Peninsula. It's all a matter of taste. I prefer my cheese melted, which Gordo's does by steaming the tortillas rather then throwing them on a grill to heat up. They're rice is hands down the best in the City. I'm not a big fan of beans, so I can't comment. Their grilled chicken is tasty, the carne asada is okay, the chile verde is excellent and the carnitas aren't bad. Don't normally eat the regular or spicy chicken. Your burrito only gets soggy if you add pintos and other wet items, like the chicken.

“ The selection is not as wide as some other taquerias, but what they do have is simple, decent quality food.
It's pretty quick even when the line is out the door.
I like the bean, rice and cheese tacos & quesadillas w/ their guac and hot sauce...price is right too.

“ Despite several locations, Gordos still doesn't excel at making burritos. Cheaper, better burritos with more ingredients in a regular size (as opposed to super) and with free chips can be found in at least three places that come to mind. When it comes to burritos, you usually want to find a good staple that's close and cheap. If your staple is Gordo's, seriously consider trying the other hole-in-the-wall spots around Taraval, or L'Avenida in the Inner Sunset -- or just head out to the Mission for the best. ”

“ Luckily, Gordo's is on my way home from work--it's the best place to get a really good, really filling, really cheap meal on my way home! I recommend this place for anyone heading to any of the nearby local beaches or for anyone going to any of the events in GG park--it's great, portable food. ”

“ Best burritos, hands down! A super clean and friendly store. This Gordo's is the best one. The one in the Sunset is crowded with non-locals who don't know how to order. Hooray for Clement Street. ”

“ My old neighborhood restaurant of choice. Gordo still makes the best quesadillas I've ever tasted -- one of the top 5 things I miss about SF. Reasonable prices, too. ”

“ Gordo's is a great value for a quick and cheap lunch when you don't want to leave the neighborhood. It's not the best burrito you'll find in SF, but it's convenient. I like the carnitas, though admittedly the meat is far fattier than it should be (and the burritos tend to drip grease, heh). Also bean and cheese tacos for under $2 are excellent for a light meal. ”
