“ Nick's fish tacos is my default place when I am in the fish taco mood. This place actually turns into a nightclub at night, but I think they are doing just fine selling just fish tacos. I would suggest a nice margarita, some guac and chips with 3 fish tacos. You will be in for a melody of flavors for your mouth. Just imagine sitting on the beach with a big sombrero, and then take a bite of your taco. You'll be in Cabo in no time. ”

“ The best crispy taco! Get it Nick's way with guacamole. I come here every so often with a friend from the east bay that introduced me to this place and he is absolutely addicted! YUMMM!

“
The tacos are great, especially when made "Nick's way." They also have one of the few authentic renditions of tortilla soup. (Most places seem to make it as a bean soup.) I just recently tried their shrimp taco and it was really good, although I think that they could have cut the shrimp in half and spread them out better. I got some bites that were pure shrimp and some that were pure cabbage. Also pluses in my opinion: they serve Bohemia beer (among others) and have great aguas frescas. ”

“ Nick's is one of my staples. Great cheap tex-mex. And now they've opened all the booths for eating so it's a great place to meet friends. The only drawback is if you eat near closing time someone might see you go into this building and tell all your friends they saw you going to Rouge! :)

“ Tried the carne asada quesadilla...not bad. The fish tacos were very tasty. I had the deep fried and my brother had the grilled and he said his was great as well...and a bit spicy...which mine wasn't. The guac was fabulous, nice chips and cold beer---it's all good. I would come back. But when it comes to burritos I'm a Pancho Villa girl :0)

“ Fish taco's, corn on the cob and freshly made chips. Not bad, but you can get all this and more while keeping more greenbacks in your pocket in so many other great spots throughout town. ”

“ Very delicious! The fish tacos are great..both kinds (but the beer battered one is better). A little pricey for a taco (around $3.25) but the great taste was worth it. ”

“ If you like things that taste really good, then head to Nick's. Get yourself some tacos "Nick's Way" and a bottle of Coke (imported from Mexico I believe), put on some of the red salsa in a Ketchup bottle and enjoy. These things are unreal. ”

“ What to say...I absolutely adore the crispy tacos Nick's way, and the tortilla soup, but I've heard recently very nasty things about the state of the kitchen, so I will not go back. ”

“ I'm not sure why one reviewer gave Nick's a negative mark, I mean it's called Nick's Crispy Taco’s NOT Nick's Chicken Burritos. When a restaurant takes the time to name itself after their signature dish it might behoove you to actually order the dish. The tacos are delicious. Don't pay attention to the long line of people waiting to get in, they're not there for the burritos, trust me. ”

“ I had a chicken burrito. It was one of the most bland burritos I've ever had. Even the salsa was bland. And the burrito contents were too wet and the whole thing fell apart. Head a few blocks down Polk Street to Panchos for really good mexican. ”

“ When I first started going to nicks I couldn't get enough. I loved all of the tacos "nicks" style. But after a while it seemed the quality had dropped. I haven't been there in about 5-6months since my last sub par experience. I guess if you hit it on a good day your in for a treat, but for me its not worth the risk, especially given the hard to find parking in the area. ”

“ THE FOOD WAS PRETTY GOOD BUT NOT CONSISTENT - I HAVE BEEN HERE SEVERAL TIMES AND THE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN FROM BAD TO EXELLENT. THE TACOS ARE NOT ALWAYS CRISPY - ( DUE TO RUSHING THE ORDER AND NOT COOKING FOR A LIITLE BIT LONGER )
IF YOUR IN THE AREA STAY AWAY FROM THE FRIED TACOS - YOU DONT KNOW HOW THEY WILL TURN OUT.EVERYTHING ELSE IS GOOD ”

“ So good. Get a taco "Nick's Way" and you will know what I mean. For those of you not into fried tacos, try the salad. It is very tasty. I used to work across the street and confess that Nick's was a daily addiction for me. Easily the best guacamole I have had. Margaritas are affordable and good. They only take cash so come prepared. ”

“ The first two times I went, the tacos weren't crispy. But they redeemed themselves the last couple of times in a big way. Therefore, we shall deign to bestow a Positive upon them (sorry, I felt like indulging a Louis the XIV impulse). Man, that interior is just WEIRD for taco dining, though, being that it's really Rouge, a red velveted bar. Just surreal. But, seriously, they do a good job. ”

“ I am addicted to the corn on the cob! the tacos are good too, but the corn is rolled in queso fresco and sprinkled with chili powder. It is 100% cravable! ”
