What a difference a couple of blocks makes. If you liked the Lori's on Powell, you will despise this one. The service was rude, the place is not clean, and in perhaps the worst dining surprise ever, the retro red plastic cups are not being cared for correctly, and therefore had a hideous glaze of black spotty mold in the bottom, which only revealed itself once I reached the bottom of my drink which I had been hard pressed to get refilled, until I noticed the evil badness lurking at the bottom, at which time I didn't care for one. Inshala, they will go under soon, and a more noble use can be made of the cool old candy machine and groovy candy apple red metalflake vinyl booths. Avoid! Review #20106

i came here because it was 3:00 in the afternoon and i wanted breakfast food. i'd never been to a lori's before, but i'd heard the only thing to really come here for is breakfast. i ordered the corned beef hash with eggs. other than it being too salty, it was fine. decent sized portions. not greasy. the waitstaff there was super friendly. attentive when i needed them to be. the atmosphere wasn't particularly attractive, but i would have breakfast there again. I'm not a Lori's fan but my husband likes it. They fry fish in the same oil as fries, they are often out of diet coke. If I'm dragged here I'll get a sundae rather than sulk, but I try to head off any discussion of going here. The Mason Street location is less crowded than the Powell Street, but I think it's also more depressing. Review #8419

All the Lori's spots are the same - decent but not great 50s style diner. Nothing to talk about here, just standard diner fare, but at least it's open late and reliable. Review #6941

Just another Loris, decent diner food, open late when you're drunk...and that's it's redeeming value. See you there @ 3:30 am. Review #6140

A typical diner like Mel's with big hamburgers and milkshakes. Not really a place you look for quality food, but more for a quick bite to eat. Review #4978

lori's diner serves up decent food, but hey, what can you expect? it's a diner right? i still prefer mel's over this, but it works if you just want a quick bite to eat. Review #3689

Desperate times call for desperate food. We stopped in here after a long day of shopping, we tried a few other places but the wait was too long so we settled for Lori's. Lori's is the typical diner. If your starving and can eat fried food then this is the place for you. We were so hungry that everything we ordered tasted great. The service was very nice and accommodating. I kinda felt like I was in Happy Day's which was fun. I agree with the other reviewers but my hunger level at the time pushed Lori's up from a neutral to a positive ;) Review #3363

Lori's can't compete with Mel's except it rarely has lines! After a night at the bars, this place will do you right. All the diner favorites are there. Review #3253

I only hit Lori's when i can't think of anywhere to go for breakfast, but I would say the theme is fun and the food is about as good as Mel's. Nothing to rave about though, but if it's late night and everything else is closed, then it's a definite choice. Review #1823

1 of several diner types in SF that you go to for the nostalgia effect rather than the food itself....service is usually fun and upbeat...fun decor and hopping music Review #1706

This is so much different than the other location - dirty, pests/rodents, bathroom is really disgusting. Service is slow. I have felt slightly ill each time I've eaten here. Review #101
