“ Fantastic beer selection and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I love that they serve fish and chips wrapped in old newspaper... classic and just the right touch! I would recommend it to my friends and will certainly go back. ”

“ Once you make it to the inside, this place is great. Sometimes they have some great local bands playing! Great beer selections on tap. ”

“ Obviously the coolest place to be in the Loin on a Tuesday night. Love the beer selection - save yourself some time and pick up your fish and chips around the corner yourself! ”

“ The pub itself is cool despite its exterior and location. THe fish and chips must be hit and miss. More of a miss when i was there. Greasy greasy. The fish itself if patted dry is not bad...but the grease factor is SUPER high. The shrimp was awful ”

“ Greasy fish and chips served in a newspaper wrapper that magically appears from an unseen kitchen. There is nothing better to go with a pint of Guinness and tunes from the coolest jukebox in town. ”

“ I don't know if they still have bagpipers on Fridays, but if they do, go then! Ten years ago they had two guys who alternated, one was terrific and played at my wedding, one is full of personality and is featured in "So I Married an Axe Murderer" (as is the Edinburgh). This is a wonderful old bar that harkens back many, many years. The staff is friendly, the pints are clean, and the atmosphere is right. Try the fried oysters--they are the best! Crispy and hot on the outside, soft, tender and slightly salty on the inside. If you don't want to go to the pub, just go the the fish shop on Larkin where the wait staff grabs your order from. ”

“ Here's a cool little pub nestled in the TL...if you happen to be in the TL, stop by, grab newcastle of black and tan and order...what else, the fish and chips. Surprisingly good and I believe the fish and chips come from a restaurant around the corner(Chelseas??). Anyways the fish was good, the chips were hot, and the beer was cool...actually enjoyed everything while losing at a couple of games of pool

“ The neighborhood is pretty scary and you're definately not there for the decor but the bar is incredibly well stocked and the fish and chips are great - or maybe that was the results of the bar... ”

“ A fine wrapper of fish & chips, even if a bit GREASY, then cut by a wee dram (or more) of the single malt and washed with black & tan, and where was I? Back with Robbie and the Queen's Own out of Inverness. Are we alive yet, lassies? I won't feel so good tomorrow on a diet like this. ”

“ The fish and chips actually come from around the corner, but you wouldn't know since they bring it to you! Try to go when there's a band playing. ”
