I went there last night because my friend is renting the restaurant out for a private event. We tried the house specialty, the zucchini carpaccio which was divine! I'll be stealing that recipe for sure! It is julliened and fried quickly in olive oil for about 2 minutes and some toasted shaved almonds and shaved peccorino added. $8.95 and it's good for 2 people. Then I had the complimentary bruschetta which was good with lots of garlic, fresh tomatoes, basil and olive oil. Not dried out at all. For my entree I had the Tortellini ($13.75) which was baked meat filled with some proscuitto and then cheese melted on top. Just divine! I ate the whole thing because it was so darn good! It's super comfort food so if you are on a diet, it's probably not a good choice. But if you are hungry, cold, tired and cranky, wow! It's the ticket. I was all of those but not cranky thank goodness. I had a glass of wine ($7.75) which was a syrah blend and it was lovely. Got a free glass too which I like! Review #12267

You have to be in the right frame of mind for dinner at Jackson-Fillmore because it's a bustling place and it never feels especially relaxing (unless you nab one of the really good tables). But it's a great choice for straightforward italian food. You can sit at the counter and eat linguini before going to see a movie across the street at the Clay. The zucchini-parmesan appetizer is especially good. Review #12073

I was about to agree 100% with poolshark's review, but then I realized how old it was....the first time I tried Jackson Fillmore was in 2003. Not much could have changed, right? But even in the short time I've been going to Jackson Fillmore, I've noticed subtle decline in attention to service and small details like being able to chit chat with the waiters at the counter and asking questions about the menu without feeling like you're wasting someone's time. Nonetheless the food is still reliably good and reasonably priced. I'll continue to go back again and again. Review #10945

The food here is great and, for the quality, a good value. So good, in fact, I find myself putting up with cramped conditions and sometimes discourteous staff that would otherwise preclude a repeat visit. I wouldn’t recommend this place to everyone, but it’s fantastic if you want excellent italian food and are willing to put up with a little hassle to get it. Review #9092

It is a bit crowded for a relaxing night on the town, but a great place to go with friends. Share appetizers for the table and then a couple of the main courses. Wine list is reasonable. Review #8514

I had a very fun meal here with some girlfriends. Every dish was consistently good, nothing over the top. Fun neighborhood place that can get crowded. Reasonably priced. Review #5898

YUM. This is a cute little neighbourhood spot that is really reasonably priced. The service is super friendly and there is a really nice italian wine list...also very reasonable. There is a free piece of brushetta to start...then shared a salad, had the halibut in spicy tomato sauce...and a couple other apps that I can't recall right now. If you are in the area...give this place a try...very cute, easy on the wallet and friendly. Enjoy! Review #5652

This is an update to my original positive review because the last couple of times i've been there i was somewhat disappointed. I don't know if it's staff change, or if they became complacent from their success (the place is very popular), but it just didn't taste as good as it used to... Review #30
