I think this place is great. They haul butt to serve our large group every week. The food is good pub food. The salads are great, as is the burger. And I love their ice tea. Review #21113

Well-located downtown pub good for meeting a group of people in the back room. The kitchen is open so you can see how they are making your food. If you are an organic snob like I am then maybe you'll stick to the vegetarian fare or a caesar salad. Review #21104

Murphy's has decent pub food at a tad of premium, not sure why it's a little more expensive than expected--but hey--it is what it is. I'd like to see them to expand beer selection--a really good IPA would bring a smile to my face. All in all, Murphy's would get a neutral from me if it weren't for the wait staff--Shannon is tops! Well I can't really give them flying colors on much. The food while the same on the menu is always different. Sesame buns, plain, poppy...all over the place. french friends, no steak fries, no back to string fries... All over The service is doing probably the best they can given that they have one waitress for the whole place. Pretty decent place for groups of 20+ assuming you call ahead and then call again to double confirm. All and all... It's ok... but I wouldn't go there unless I had a reason. Review #21032

If it weren't for the *great* service I'd mark Murphy's as neutral. The food is hit or miss but their great attitude always wins me over in the end. The burgers are fair, but the quesadillas are best. And if you want privacy there's a bigger room behind the bar that holds ~20. It's not well marked so it's always empty - a bonus when looking for a place to take a big group in SF without a reservation! Review #21019

I find Murphy's Pub "OK." I feel that everything is fairly average there. The ambiance and food are pleasant but nothing spectacular. However, I have found the service and prices to be good. Review #21017

Good pub food, I had the hamburger & fries. When it arrived I learned something that made it even better, our nice waitress told me that none of their meat is frozen and the reason why it tasted so good was revealed. It's FRESH!. A few areas for improvement on my $15 dollar “including tip” Burger. I want lettuce with my burger, not one leaf that would only cover 1/3 of the burger, I want RED tomatoes, not green half ripe ones, and I want more then 2 thin slice's that would only cover 1/4 of my burger. Special thanks to the MGT for helping getting a room for my party of 20, the room was nice and not SUPER LOUD. Review #20706
