Positive Cuisine: Seafood Napa
Just middling quality food in an old, funky building. Interior decor is picnic tables. Not a pretty dining area. Bambie & me had the Lobsters who were wiggling their antennae in the big aquarium right next to our table just 15 minutes before we started to tear apart their crusty little bodies. Fresh? YES! delicious? Not really. Nice texture meat but bland flavor, No briny fresh seawater taste. Thick cut fried potatoes are extremely starchy. Cole slaw is super sweet, with pineapple & raisins swimming in drippy mayo based sauce. Other diners were having fish n' chips, fish fillets on buns, breaded & deep-fried what-ever's. That all looked really oily. Servers are all young, happy, & pleasant. 3 beers from Maine, more from elsewhere. 12 wines. Ignore Google maps, Enter from Soskol Ave / 3rd street. You can not enter from the eastside due to rail tracks and tall fences. Review #20558

Positive Cuisine: Seafood Napa
If you’re tired of California Wine country food, while in Napa then stop by the Crab Shack. This new place is the related to the one in Redwood City and the City. A breath of salty air was refreshing as we sat slurping up a bowl of delicious chowder, done perfectly unlike wallpaper paste other places seem to serve. Fresh seafood and Lobster is their specialty. My Lobster was presented along with good cole slaw and fries. The size of the lobster is about a 2 lb’er, (unlike the Palm restaurants,) was the only disappointing thing about the place. Service is good even during busy lunch time. The prices are steep, 22 bucks for the Captains plate, and 38 for the small lobster but the quality is good! As you sit there eating the lobster, your elbows slide on the lacquered picnic tables, this is pretty close to the real experience in Maine sans the sea gulls and multicolored tourists. They have a nice selection of local wines, affordably priced to enjoy with the other white meat! Review #19871
