“ Hearty korean comfort food @ good value in central J-town, along Buchanan's cobblestone path near Denny's & Soko Hardware. Clean yellow interior w/ wood booth, table & bar seating. Specializes in "soon dubu chigae," soft tofu stew in spicy, I believe beef-based, broth served boiling in small stone crock. U choose spiciness level & meat or veggie content/topping. BBQ meats, sauteed dishes, beer, & mixed soju drinks found on menu. $7.95 lunch (11am-3pm) lunch special sounded generous: roasted corn tea, bowl of tofu stew, choice of BBQ meat, salad, 3 side dishes, rice, & "Yakult," a sweet-sour probiotic yogurt drink to aid digestion. Arriving @ 3:30, I got most of the above, minus the BBQ meat, plus more side dishes & cute little whole fried fish for $8.95. Eating tips: you're served a raw egg. It's 2B cracked into boiling stew, if u wish. Hot H20 is added 2 crunchy rice bits in crock that cooked your rice. U drink rice H20 after eating stew to cool palate. Follow w/ Yakult. ”
