“
Definitely hands down on being one of my favorite indian Restaurant in the Bay Area. The restaurant is clean, wait staff are friendly, and the food rocks. Some of my favorites are: Kabuli Naan, Samosas, Chicken Pakora, Lamb Vindaloo, and Fish Masala. Downside to this joint is parking but it's worth it. ”

“ I didn't like indian food until my introduction to the indian Oven. oooooooh! And the spiced wine!!!! The only other time I've had a spice wine like this was one of my favorite cafes on the Ile de la Cite in Paris. In other words, exceptional and hard to come by. Do you honestly need any more reasons to go to the indian Oven than that?

“ Mmmm. Never been disappointed by this place. Love the saag aloo and any dish with prawns. Can be tough with a large group as the restaurant is small, but I've never had to wait too long for a table, and the staff has always been very accommodating. Oh, and my water glass never went empty, that's a big plus in my book. ”

“ My favorite indian in SF. Great curries, and the chicken is all meat, unlike some places where you get too much gristle or bone to deal with. Staff is friendly. ”

“ Grate restaurant! My favorite indian restaurant in SF. Not too spicy, flavorful, and reasonable price. I love their naan & vegetable Korma. Highly recommended. ”

“ this place is fantastic! i loved the food! the naan was fabulous and the saag aloo was just spicy enough, really amazing. the dal was fantastic. i would have to say this may be the best indian i've had in sf. prices are decent ($9 a dish, just about) especially considering how well made it all was. the place was pretty packed when we got there at about 6pm weeknight, we got the only available table. ”

“ Great indian food. I've never had a dish i didn't like. I have a problem with the dining room on busy nights, as I usually get seated next to the front door. On a cold night, a gust of wind sweeps through the front of the room everytime the door opens. On busy nights, i skip the line and call in for take-out... same great taste, in the comfort of your own home!! Friendly staff. ”

“ WARNING: The indian Oven is highly addictive and habit forming! I love dining at the indian Oven where flames in the kitchen translate to flames on your tongue. indian Oven's wonderful specialties include tantalizingly rich and creamy curries in exotic spices, delectable chicken, lamb and prawn tandoories which arrive piping hot and enticingly steamy to your table. Supplement the delicious entrees with some of their superlative breads, Naan, varied with minced lamb, fruits and nuts or goat cheese with green onion and bell peppers. Compliment your enjoyment with an indian beer, King Fisher (light) or Taj Mahal in the big bottle (dry), or try a California pinot noir like I usually do such as the Saintsbury Carneros which goes surprisingly well with indian food. A great place to take friends or out-of-town guests for consistently delicious and unexpected taste treats. Exuberant service and festive ambience. Reserve. ”

“ The aroma walking past this place is amazing. That's what led me into this little piece of heaven!
The staff are very friendly and the service is great.
We tried the 'Dum Aloo Vindaloo' - Spicy potatoes and cumin sautéed indian style, and made a mental note to come back soon. (just on the taste of this delicious dish)
The Naan and Samosas were also amazing.
No other indian place comes close to this one.

“ I think this place is still worth its reputation. The food is fresh and delicious, and the main problem is the crowding. If you need a little elbow room and tranquility, you might look elsewhere; otherwise, expect great food at reasonable prices. ”

“ delicious food. Beautiful simple decor, white tablecloths, fresh pink flowers on the table. Impeccable service. Food (Dal Saag) was mild just like I ordered it, but had complex flavors. Garlic Naan was outstanding. They had salad too which was fab. Open on July 4th~yay! Love it! Can't wait to go back (and I usually don't so much love indian food) but this place was fab! ”

“ This is a great indian restaurant. This is our spot for a regular gathering, and I have never been disappointed. If you have a large group, you can request a table in the back room and often you will have it to yourself. Everything I have had has been solid: samosas, curries, vegetarian, and breads. Love the indian beer as well. ”

“ This place was hyped for the longest time as the best indian in the city. It was good. Might have been better had there been about 70 fewer people in the dining room. There is better indian in the loin and out on Clement. ”

“ I tried the mixed tandoori plate which was a dissapointment. The meats were overcooked and not flavourfull. Shared the mixed appizer plate which consisted of a samosa, Pakora (spinach, onion & potato dipped in chickpea butter and fried) and a papadum....it was tasty and not surprizingly not too oily. The chicken korma was really tasty, lots of great flavours and still tender chunks of chicken. I had the Sula savignon blanc from India and it is wonderful! Must have and compliments the food well. I will try this place again but stick with chicken or veg. ”

“ I don't eat indian cuisine enough and here is one reason to make it a regular habit. There are so many indian restaurant choices, and this should be at the top of one's list. I ate here for the first time about 8 years ago, and it is still good today. The chicken korma in creamy yogart was excellent as well as the naan. The mixed tandori plate is a little disappointing with the beef, chicken, and lamb overcooked, but everything else was great. Also, don't be afraid to try the indian...YES, indian sauvignon blanc...I first tried this @ Michael Mina's Arcadia...and it's tasty. ”

“ Super good indian food. Good service, lively atmoshere. The only dish that has disappointed me latley is unfortunately the channa masala, which happens to be my favorite indian dish. But overall, it's the best inidan place I've eaten in SF. ”

“ Fluffy, chewy naan- I dream about the naan from this place. The navratan korma is outrageous. I love this place. This is the kind of indian restaurant that you can feel confident taking an obsessive indian food eater or a skeptical novice to. Oh, my god.. I might need to go there tonight... ”
