I have dined at Gullivers since the late 70's and have always loved thier food. This is up until my 10/16/07 visit there. It was a completely bad experience. The food was terrible. I ordered prime rib and my boyfriend ordered New York Steak. It took 40 minutes from the time we ordered for our food to arrive. My prime rib was not fresh, and almost cold I sampled a tiny bite of it . The potatoe was old and hard in some places. Creamed spinach was luke warm and runny. Yorkshire pudding was hard and cold. My boyfriend's New York steak seemed to be freshly made. But that was it. The rest of his food was cold and luke warm. We just could not eat this and at 25-30 dollars a plate we were very disappointed. Our drink order was also not correct and we had to wait extra time for that. The service was bad, the waitress was uncaring and rushed, even though it was not a busy night. Gulliver's has really gone downhill and this was a horrendous experience. Review #20330

Our reservation was confirmed by Gulliver's the middle of December for seating in the fireplace room for 8 people for Christmas Eve. When we arrived, we were seated on folding chairs in a corner off the bar area. We were made to feel as though we were "last minute walk-ins" while a table in the large main dining room in front of the cooking area remained empty the 1-1/2 hours we were there. We waited longer than necessary for a wait-person to acknowledge us and take our orders. The Filet Mignons were inconsistent in size; one was raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen. I wrote a letter to the Manager on 12/26/06 explaining that the entire Christmas Eve dinner left my family and me very disappointed. I received no response. On 1/23/07, I wrote to the owner, and never received a reply. My suggestion is: Don't plan a holiday meal at Gulliver's. They can't handle it and they don't care. Review #18871

My wife and I took some friends of ours to dinner at Gullivers as a thank you dinner. Our experience was embarassing and one the worst dining experiences we have had. The server began by trying to "talk each of us out of our origianl menu selection". Then, we were served out soup/salad course, which came directly on the heel of our main course, the server and bus boy proceeded to adjust our salad plates to fit the entree's. they both cleared plates as soon as they saw a fork set down. My wife then went to address these issues with night manager, a very defensive inexperienced young man by the name of Danny, who listened and then proceeded to compound the problem by rushing our woman guest who was a slower eater. Danny, tried to clear her plate once, then the bus boy tried not 3 minutes later. Our poor woamn guest was embarassed by her slow eating and left with indigestion from rushing. We called Danny the next day and he hung up on my wife! Review #17092

Negative Cuisine: Prime RIb Seafood Burlingame
Arriving at this once popular now nearly empty eatery at 8 o'clock on a Wednesday evening, should have been an indication. But upon asking if they had prime rib, large, rare, at that hour of the evening, I was guaranteed that they did! Ok, it's possible but I should have known better! Passing on any of the sides, I was impressed with the slab presented on the plate but my excitement diminished after the second bite! Dry, warm, lacking any moisture and rareness (is that a word?) ended my exhilaration for the evening. The Filet Mignon my wife had was done correctly with a nice pink warm band in the middle. So they do know what Rare is! It's just that they have to get rid of any beef before they have to make it a lunch sandwich special. Again another place that should have been a great Prime Rib experience was down the drain! I guess I am asking for too much, or my expectations of what a should be a great dining experience becomes a great well done disappointment! Review #13909
