“ Here's a place you'll never find on your own if you're a visitor to San Rafael. The hotel & restaurant resemble a family owned pension located somewhere not-in-the-USA. Do you like Rick Steve's PBS TV travel show patter & his european family run hotel/restaurant selections? Then you'll like this place. I've eaten here 4 times over the past 10 years. It is not sublime top notch dining. It IS better than the low prices would reflect. I'm not kidding about the cuisine style description. This is pan asian-meso-American- italo interpreted by a guy from the rural mountains of Guerrero Mexico. He's never been to Italy nor China, so he cooks his way. It's okay! The room is small, romantically dark at night. Candles the major light source. I'm a part time pro-musician, but still I avoid live music nites here. They're too close to tables, they're too loud, oh & they're not really good musicians - Must be relatives of the owners. Come for food, skip the entertainment. ”
