was here for breakfast at about 830 on a Saturday. Only one table available, but was the perfect size for my friend and I. The waitstaff was very fast, I'm sure cause they knew a line was going to start forming. They don't dawdle, but they're not pushy either. They just make sure they take your order promptly, the food comes quickly and they check to be sure you have everything you need. our glasses were refilled without asking, which I always love. The portion was appropriate for the prices I enjoyed the food. I had the veggie scramble and hash brownes with biscuits. I ate less than half of it and that was enough for me to be satisfied. Worth a try. Review #19465

Great breakfasts, but you have to get there early or wait. We all love the bacon, etc. but the last time I was there the biscuits tasted a little rancid and the blueberries were mushy. I don't know. I was expecting fresh? Review #17683

Really great breakfast place! It's a little warm inside, a little cramped and there's usually a wait on weekends, but the food is consistently good, and served by an efficient no nonsense wait staff. I'm a big fan of the Nadie's scramble, and the biscuits and gravy. Their big portions have got that real home cooking (when people used to cook at home) feel. comfort food comfortably priced. This place has huge portions, standard breakfast fare; American style; I recommend the biscuits and gravy, pancakes or one of the omelets, come with an appetite because you will be stuffed. Usually long lines, I suggest going early in the morning or try the one in the Missions, which has more seating. Value for money and worth a try! Review #14026

I like this place merely because it has become a Haight street landmark. The food is basic and mediocre which is all I ever expect from scrambled eggs and sausage with pancakes. The staff is surly. The place feels earthy (read: dirty). The crowd can be interesting in a campus sort of way. It is worth a visit to decide for yourself. It satisfies my cravings. Review #13892

I like sitting at the counter. I gathered trips on how to make cooked spinach, poached eggs and hash browns. Our waitress was friendly but not overly friendly. My cup of coffee was constantly refilled after I took no more that two sips. Same menu as the one in the Mission, but it seemed like the prices were a bit higher. I always get the Pork Store Special Breakfast. Even though they offer vegetarian fare, I wouldn't eat there if I were a vegetarian. We watched the cook drop a pile of spinach on the grill in the same spot he'd just finish cooking some bacon. Review #13680

I liked the earthy, "down home" atmosphere of this place. The crowd was eclectic, which I liked, because I hate going to "too trendy" restaurants filled with pretentious people. I had the country biscuits and gravy and it was more than filling. I would only go here if I was looking for a truly big, American meal. It was really crowded, but totally worth the wait. Finally a satisfying breakfast! Definitely worth the wait, the food is good, the portions generous and the prices not over the top. The biscuits were light and fluffy and the pancakes were too! Yum! The omelet I had was cooked just right, not over or under cooked and the hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They even served us small cups of coffee while we waited in line outside. That was a nice touch. Review #9804

There's a reason why this place packs it in all the time. The food is just great! The line that forms outside are of eager returners and first timers who've heard how fabulous Pork Store is. I loved it! I had the eggs benedict and my friend had an omelet, both delicious. The waitress was also very calm and friendly considering that the place was just packed. I will come back to try their chicken fried steak. Review #9251

Good breakfast dive. Gives new meaning to Intimate seating, but sometimes that is part of the fun. Especially depending on who you're next too. Good place to go after a long night with filling breakfast fare. french Toast there is definately worth any wait you have to deal with. Review #9193

I went here for the first time a month ago. It's good. As another person stated, it's a great breakfast dive. There's nothing fancy in the menu, just good ol' down-home cooking. Just a tip though, I would avoid sitting at the counter; sometimes it's better not to see what goes on in the kitchen. Lets just say I would order bottled water next time. Other than that, I would certainly go back and give this place another try. Review #8660

What can I say,.. if you wanna get your grub on, this is the joint. Standard breakfast choices are available, but served in "hungry man" portions. The apple sausage, pork chop plate, and spinach omeletes are my personal faves. If you have worked up an appetite, shoppin' the haight, this joint is for you. If you hate long lines, wince at less than sparkling silverware, and/or on the ATKINS diet, you should skip the Pork Store. Review #7397

I'm more happy to go to All You Knead across the street or Magnolia for brunch. Sometimes the Pork Store (called the Porkenstein in our family) is out of really mundane things, like diet soda, or tomatos. Watch your silverware and glassware: I've gotten lipsticked many times. I usually go with my son before school when it's fairly slow. The wait staff is usually cranky this early. There's a low-carb special with spinach that I like. Every now and then I ask if I can have the hash browns with it, and they snap back, "Then it's not low-carb, is it?!" Call it the fat-man's plate, I don't care! Do NOT get the biscuits and gravy. I don't know what they do, but the gravy tastes like it has a bucket of salt in it! Review #6271

This is a GREAT breakfast spot. The lines can be ridiculous, but when it's Sunday morning, you're slightly hung over, you have a Sunday paper in hand, and you smell that bacon sizzling away, you'll be patient. And patience is rewarded with huge portions of diner style food. I used to always go to their old location on 5th street many years ago where eggs with pork chops were the highlight...and still is. Long lines on weekends, but they serve you coffee while you wait. Food is very good, though not as great as everyone would have you believe. Certainly the best in the immediate neighborhood for decently priced diner food. Portions are extremely generous. Very cramped seating. Less greasy than your average diner. Review #5428

This it it! The number one breakfast in San Francisco. It is a ritual of ours to see who wakes up the earliest on the weekend to rouse our friends out of bed to avoid the Noon Lines on the weekend. Regardless, we will wait impatiently for our food while kind waiter(ess) serve you coffee. The wait staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive. The food! MMMMM! Bacon, thick and yummie, sausage, well-spiced, SAUSAGE-GRAVY, true to it's title, Breakfast steak, seasoned with their own dry rub, SPINACH!!!, biscuit, fluffy/ I could go on, You got the idea I hope. THIS IS SAN FRANCISCO's BEST BREAKFAST. I heard the location in the Mission got it's Liquor License so if you need that Bloody Mary head over there. Review #4670

Flat out one of the best breakfast places in SF. No frills, just solid breakfast fare. Nice portions; the food actually covers the entire plate. Real hashbrowns. None of those mushy "breakfast potatoes" you find at other places on the Haight (not that there is anything wrong with breakfast potatoes). Sometimes you just need some good old hashbrowns to go along with that Pork Store special (pork chops and eggs). The long wait on the weekends is a total drag, so go early or be prepared to wait. A nice, open & airy style restaurant overlooking the heart of the Mission, the flavors are giant, reminding you of a roadside diner somewhere in the Midwest-only lots better. Try barbecued pork spare ribs, served with crisp roasted potatoes, spicy coleslaw and yam chips. They also do a traditional breakfast, can never have too many breakfast places in SF. Review #2986

Despite the fact that this place is a total dive, the food is quite tasty. Though I am one who doesn't deprive myself, I reluctantly tried the egg white veggie scramble; it was flavorful and delicious. I liked the biscuits and gravy, though beware, the gravy is heavy on garlic. LOVE the staff; so what if they are cranky, that's just part of the atmosphere, even though they are always packed you are always covered. Once we had a server wasn't helpful one bit, the busser picked up the slack, and I never saw that waitress again. The menu has something to please all diners, from rabbit food to complete carnivore.
