I love that they really invested in the design/decor of their restaurant. Hyuhn is a good vietnamese joint, esp. at lunch time when it can be quieter than other area VN places. All their standard "Americanized" dishes are quite good. A word of warning for the uninitiated: if you order noodles with cartilage, you will get some freaky-looking lunch that is scary (but I've been told is yummy). Review #12625

I've eaten here 4 times. Always good. Located just north of the heavy traffic hub-bub in Oakland's Chinatown. Dinner hour parking has always been within one street for me. The dining room is nice as mentioned in previous reviews. Surprising to find such a nice dining room in this somewhat run-down neighborhood. Colorful walls, elegant decor. Small room @ about 50 seats. The food goes beyond street Pho and shrimp wraps. The sauteed meats and fishes are good. Some clay pot entrees are available, the aromas from those are exotic and flavorful. Tiny wine list of inexpensive selections. I find that tea or beer goes better with the cuisine. I have 4 or 5 favorite bay area VN restaurants, this is one of them. Bill for 2 people that eat well and try several items will run $60 with drinks. Review #12622

Surf through the net to find a vietnamese restaurant in Oakland and found Huynh. Nicely decorated interior and exterior. Once I found the place, it was packed out he door. It's not any cheap vietnamese restaurant but good. I had the Com Cha Gio Bo Nuong , which is grilled beef with imperial roll over their "special" rice (special rice cooked in chicken broth and onion. $8.00) Was delicious. A lot of other menu items to choose from. Review #12531
