“ You have to be into other people's (unruly) children to really enjoy this place. We come here for the easy parking and the curly fries. I think the burgers are only OK so I get the Cobb. The kid portions are HUMUNGOUS. ”

“ I had one of the RUDEST waitress ever here. The music on the patio kept cutting in and out and was very distracting. I politely said something to the waitress, and she gave a RUDE, CURT response. She messed up my order, and the order of the couple sitting next to me. The music was a mild issue that could have been easily fixed. My food was even good, but the attitude of the waitress was horrid.
This is the first time in my life that I've been compelled to leave a crappy tip. ”

“
Excellent choice for vegetarian burgers. Their menu offers an imaginative variety of burgers for both vegetarian and meat eaters. Their shakes are delicious, specifically the Turkish coffee shake. Sometimes, they tend to put too much on the burgers, so be specific when ordering if you do not care for a billion of something. ”

“ Pretty good juicy flavorful burgers.
Two disappointments though,
First, they switched their mustard from a really good mustard to a pretty mediocre one.
Second, their battered onions/mushroom were too heavily battered, heavy and dense.

“ Barney's offers plenty of options for burgers, as well as offering other sandwiches. Sandwiches are big, really too big. I am not into Texas sized over consumption and biggie foods, so they could trim that sandwich by a bit. Nothing spectacular about it, meat is average and the bun is a bit lacking to say the least. I tend toward the avocado burger when here. Truthfully, unless I was famished, I would wait until I got to Kelly's on 16th. I find the meat pattie quality and taste far superior to Barneys, but that doesn't mean Barney's is bad, it is just "run of the mill, non-memorable, I am hungry and here, so what the heck" kind of a burger. Do like the onion rings. Decent seating, usually chock full of families when I have been here. Has outdoor seating. ”

“ I love this place! Great hamburgers, good fries and my favorite - fried zucchini. The service is a little bit lacking but what do you expect at a burger joint. Nice patio seating when the weather is nice, also.

“ I have been coming here for years. What made me come back so often? My favorite burger, the western with bacon, cheese and grilled onions and BBQ Sauce. In the old days they had so much bacon on the burger you'd be piling it on and on and on, close the top bun lift up the hefty burger and still have two slices of bacon on your plate. These days they barely put enough bacon to distinguish there selves from any other bacon burger. Booooo, other then that this place still is in my top 5 for best burgers. Their two variety of fries, their delicious Turkish coffee (ask for malted) milk shakes! I have always left here so full and with food still on my plate!

“ Nice curly fries. good burgers. I had the cheddar melt which is on dark rye bread with sauteed mushroom. It was good. The bread was soggy when it came but it was still good. They have all sorts of burgers, vegan and turkey, and chicken. Lots to chose from. They also have a selection of salads too. ”

“ Overall a positive experience. There are a lot of choices on the menu, and they include beef, chicken, tofu and gardenburgers with a lot of topping combinations. If you order something with bacon they put a ton on which is really yummy! A lot of places skimp on the bacon. The only downsides are that sometimes the burgers are a little dry and sometimes and the staff is a little incompetent/not that nice. ”

“ delicious food. Had a tofu BBQ burger and it was HUGE and yummy. Shared a small basket of fries and it was too big for the two of us. Loved that my coffee was served in a french press. Thought the waitress was fabulous, in personality and service. Can't believe that I've never been here before eventhough it's in my neighborhood. Moderate prices but worth it! Open until 10pm! ”

“ Great burgers and fries. I think the most important part of a meal is the potatoes. Yes I am Irish, and I get a lot of crap about that, but I love french fries, I would have them with every meal if I could. But last night I ate at Barney's in Noe Valley, I lived in the Castro for 6 years, and never knew it existed. I had the teriyaki burger with cheese and steak fries. It was great, burger was juice and tender, and the fries were crispy on the outside and nice ad fluffie in the inside. Great meal. Reasonably priced too.
Also, this is a great family style restaurant, great for kids and couples too. I would rank this as one of the best restaurant's in Noe Valley. ”

“ This is the only burger I have sat down to eat that was more than I was able to put away in one sitting. It made an awesome dinner as well. It was a warm day and we sat outside. It was a great meal. ”

“ healthy seems to be the idea, but I always end up with a burger with avocado, cheese and goopy sauce! it's great, filling comfort food and as a sub for Miss Millie's when you just can't wait, this can't be beat! My friends like the salads too, but who comes to Barney's for the salad? ”

“ Everybody has their days when you just want a burger, fries and a beer...or a shake...and Barney's fits the bill. The burgers can satisfy and the fries are good too. On a weekend afternoon with the sun out, sitting on the patio digging into a tasty burger can be just what the carnivore asked for. ”

“ Can you say carnivorous heaven. Burgers any way you like them or take it a step towards the healthier side and have the same creation on a turkey burger or chicken sandwich. Steak fries and curly fries were awesome. Recommend the shakes as well. Had the Oreo cookie shake - good stuff. We had the onion rings as well - batter was a bit too heavy/thick for me. Barney's salad selection took me by surprise. Good selection but have never had one. ”

“ If you live nearby and you're in the mood for a tasty, moist burger, then you have found the place. Parking is somewhat difficult, the atmosphere is completely uninspired, but on a warm day when you can sit out in the patio and have a beer and burger this is THE place to hang out. It's the kind of food that's filling after a day of cleaning, biking, or working in the yard. An almost infinite array of burgers. Good fries to. ”

“ My biggest "beef" with Barneys are the buns. They just seem gummy and unpleasant. I also finally stopped ordering anything with bacon because they are the only known people in the universe that know how to make bacon taste bad! Something about their cooking method makes it hard and chewy. Lately I have been finding myself ordering the veggie burgers. Really though, it's an ok burger and sitting out on the patio on a sunny day is nice. You can do worse. ”

“ I came here with my pregnant vegetarian friend who was craving a good veggie burger and fries. Barney's offers their burgers a variety of ways, so even a vegetarian isn't reconciled to the token 'garden burger' on the menu. I had a side salad, which comes with a variety of vegetables and good dressing. Not only does Barney's offer a laid back, kid friendly atmosphere with reliable food, they only serve free-range quality meats. ”

“ DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT come here for the burgers. Frankie's is way better at this. But DO try the salads. They're consistently fresh and tasty. Add some grilled chicken if you want to make a meal out of it. Only other word of caution--The service usually sucks. AND--GO TO FRANKIE's for a REAL hamburger! ”

“ Barney's serves the BEST turkish coffee milkshake around. Also, I love their chicken sandwiches, especially the carribean chicken (with jerk marinated carrot, zucchini and onion). The fries are great too! Tons of sandwich choice (Burger, chicken breast, turkey, portabello or garden/veggie) and good salads too! ”

“ The spicy curly fries were nicely seasoned (not too salty and just enough kick) and not greasy but crisp. They come with a side of their Ranch sauce, which is fresh and tangy. The Maui Waui burger I had was DRENCHED in canned pineapple bits-a little too much ( and I like pineapples!). Plus the teriyaki sauce on the burger was on the sweet side and detracted from the nice beef. The Portobello burger was well done - my vegitarian friends says .."tasted like a meaty burger." ”
