I just went to Ti Couz last night for a late night dessert and my dessert crepe was delicious. The savory crepes are good too and I usually have the shrimp one with seafood sauce. It can be pricey and I've had some really great service there, but I've also had really bad service. It's hit or miss. Review #18530

I went into Ti Couz hoping for a glass of champagne and something small to eat although that wasn't set in stone. Midway through said glass of champagne, however, we were informed that in fact the 'something small to eat' had been set in stone for us, as they have a liquor license with very strict fine print. Its not that the cheese plate we then ordered was bad - although, come to think of it, it was rather small and was comprised almost entirely of smelly cheeses of the cow variety. not what i was hoping - but mostly, i dont like being told what to do by my restaurant. I know it wasn't their fault, but they could have possibly warned us when we ordered them that our drinks came with strings attached. anyways, one friend got a crepe that was about as thin as a peice of paper and fairly charred. I was nonplussed. The champagne was nice though, as was the atmosphere. I'll give it another try, but it's definately on probation. Review #17250

Good crepes, unique compared to other creperies around the city. I also like being able to "customize" the crepe you get, but that also drives up the costs. The crepes don't look that big, but they are filling. I didn't like the fact that it seemed like limited seating in the restaurant, but maybe if they opened the other section (they had a whole section close the day we went), it would be less crowded. I just returned from Paris and I have to tell you the crepes in the sidewalks of Paris are no match to the crepes at Ti Couz,. Ti Couz never fails to impress. on the weekend the wait can be up to an hour but it is totally worth the wait. my fav are the sweet crepes but the savory crepes are very popular as well. Probably my favorite crepe place in the Bay Area. It's true their crepes are very filling and almost as good as getting the real thing on the sidewalks of Paris. But the service gets iffy at times (especially at night.) And after a few times there, their salmon crepes taste a lot like the scallops or the ham for that matter. But I usually visit once or twice a year. It's also nice to chug down a nice cocktail which you can't do at the chain creperies. Review #14193

Ti Couz is one of my favorite creperies around town. Their savory crepes are pretty good but be aware of the portions because we barely had room for their delish desserts. I highly recommend the brandy flavored dessert crepes since they are flambeed in front of you! Review #13252

I went to Ti Couz at about 1030pm on a Thursday. I didn't mind waiting for a table, but what I did mind was waiting 20 minutes to order a drink while I was waiting. I generally think that savory is an adjective that is better left associated with meat, and Ti Couz didn't change my mind. Their dessert crepes are really good, and that is the only reason why you should go. What is unfortunate is that once I had eaten one of the savory crepe options, I was WAY less interested in eating a crepe for desert as well. But, I buckled down and ate the apple caramel crepe, and it didn't disappoint. It was really good. I guess if you are looking for a late night place, where you can get dessert and a drink, then Ti Couz is a good option. But be forewarned: The drinks(and food, too) aren't cheap, the specialty cocktails are best stayed away from, and the porch is preferable to the interior (weather permitting). Would I go back on a nice evening with some time to spare? Sure. Is it a priority? Nope. Review #13236

I've never quite got it. I continue to try this place every couple years to see if it improves at all. I have never had terrible food, but it has never impressed me either. Eating on 16th Street leaves a lot to be desired. Inside it is cozy, noisy and crowded. The staff is indifference at best. And I always pay too much for what I get. It typically takes me two to three years to forget all this. Review #12033

I know it is sacrilegious to say it, but I just don't find the crepes that interesting. They are the approximate size and shape of a business-size envelope and, frankly, all the variations I have tried ended up tasting more or less like a business-size envelope as well. On the other hand, the salade de marée is a very good choice, with lots of enticing ingredients: grilled tuna, shrimp, corn, rice, olives, and heaven knows what else. Review #11787

Very delicious crepes. Their mushroom sauce is delicious as well as their organic tomatoes. The wait is a little long and I really cannot understand their waiting room. Why don't they just serve food in there? The service is pretty lacking as well. Also a little pricey. But I give it a positive because the crepes are truly delicious and unique. Review #10897

This is a place I usually take out of towners. I typically eat elsewhere and then amble over for dessert. I sometimes have a savory crepe here, but have not been over "wowed" by them. I like the decor, it feels intimate and cozy. I love the bread. After all my visits, I still like to watch the crepes being made... it is a big hit with kids old and young alike. I find the prices a bit high, but for a fun interesting dessert spot it is fine. Is often busy which is another reason I like to save it for dessert. You can let your meal digest and by the time you are served, you'll really have some room for that crepe. I have never had the real deal in the homeland, so I cannot comment on the authenticity. Thumbs up on the dessert crepes and a not too bad on the savory crepes. Review #10753

Relatively traditional creperie - missing the salad on top of the complete! Also, everything is a la carte - standard of the french creperie "le menu" is not present - ie no prix fixe options. Also - no cider - Les Bretons would be pissed! Otherwise, delicious crepes, great salads, dessert crepes great too! Review #10055

I'm just not a fan. I went back tonight because my friend wanted to eat there and I did enjoy my crepe, but it's too expensive and nothing that came to our table went to the right person. I think the secret is keep it simple and ask for a sauce, or just go for dessert. Review #9733

The key to having an affordable, delicious meal here is choice of items. I'm vegetarian, and choose *EITHER* the mushroom crepe, or the ratatouille one (both are really delicious, much better than anything at the other Americanized crepe places in town). If you choose one of the combo/multiple-item crepes, you'll see something that goes from $4 to about $12, with little added enjoyment. Skip the juices, which are not great. The bread basket, with one of the flavored butters, is a cheap ($2), nice appetizer. The simple sweet crepes (like honey, or brown sugar), are cheap and delicious. If you insist on one of the "complicated"/multiple-item sweet crepes, go to Squat & Gobble or one of its clones, for a better value. Review #7705

The buckwheat crepes are delicious, but don't make the fatal mistake of not adding the very vital mushroom sauce. The sauce will make the whole plate extra delicious! I don't like the wait and I don't respect rude wait staff, therefore I bestow upon this restaurant the Grey Dot of Indifference. One of my favorite spots in the city. Decor is really great, and food is amazing. These are the best crepes in the city by far, but they are Bretagne style, so different than you might expect. Try the mushroom/tomatoe/gulf shrimp with seafood and mushroom reduction sauces - outstanding. And of course, leave room for dessert. I am a huge nutella/banana fan, but try something simple, brown sugar and vanilla ice cream, and you will be floored. Great beer and cider list. Also, their seafood salad is huge and tasty if you want to go lighter. Review #6076

Ti Couz has the most authentic crepes but I assume it's due to local tastes (otherwise ignorance of the kitchen) that the buckwheat crepes are overcooked. The cider is authentic but they have an opportunity for improvement by offering more Norman selections. Service is spotty. I don't care how many tats or piercings you have but you should be able to focus on your customers a bit better. This place wouldn't even survive in Place Pigalle. Review #5841

Definitely rate this one higher on the food than the service. Very informal and authentic french crepe. The crepe's are very good. The savory crepe smothered in a mushroom reduction sauce are de vine. The salad is lightly dressed. Great cider but a rather poor wine list. Good for a sunny weekend day sitting outside enjoying simple quality fare at a leisurely pace. It's mission location makes this somewhat of a "Let's Go USA" kind of experience. Review #5789

comments: I liked this place a lot. The crepes were fantastic. We did have to wait for a few minutes for a place to sit. Sitting at the bar was fun. The breeze blowing in from the door that kept opening and closing which I found annoying. My crepe was excellent. I didn't pay for the meal, but think it might have been expensive. Didn't like walking through the Mission to get there. Be sure and get dessert and coffee too! Review #4281

ti couz was an interesting experience. it's in a bad part of town, and it's hard to find parking there. i went with a group of 8, and for the most part, the crepes we ordered all tasted the same (shrimp, mushroom, scallop, etc). i got one with carmelized onions, so that made it a bit tastier. and some of the crepes arrived lukewarm and somewhat cold. the dessert crepes were okay, i think they would be better during the summer time, when there is fresh fruit readily available. the caramel apple one was good. they have pretty bad service...they delivered us the wrong crepe (twice!), and they charged us incorrectly! it took forever to get it settled, b/c we couldn't flag down the waiter, even though we tried about 5 times. I would like to update what I once wrote-"best crepes this side of brittany...lines are difficult out door sunny day seating at a premium but there is only one place to eat crepes in this town..I enjoy the lemon presse and the big salads as well" update-10/31/06 I continue to eat here, but no longer consider this the stellar place it was say ten years ago. and while I still love the place, I no longer see this as truly as good as the Gallattes in Brittany. I now order a bloody mary and a seafood salad which are just fine if not better. Often the place is over crowded and slow. and the crepes have setteled into just good... Review #3514

Gets quite crowded and the wait can seem to last a lifetime... especially if you are new to the whole white board system. BUT the food is fantastic - especially the salads and crepes. You really can't go wrong with any of the suggested crepe combinations. The bowl of cider does pair well with any crepe and the fresh pressed lemonade is a tasty choice for those wanting to stay away from an alcoholic beverage. Review #3051

Can't say I'm a sophisticated world-traveling gourmand since I've not been to France; so it doesn't remind me of anything other than over priced batter. Sauces seemed heavy handed and crepes heavy. No cider ?!? They have about 6 different brands of cider, both on tap and by the bottle. They also have a nice beer selection (Hoegaarden, best wheat beer in the world). I was there a few days ago, and it's really amazing how this place has NOT changed a bit since the first time i tried it 10 years ago. It's still stuck in that strange hood where trendy spots, not-so trendy spots and crackheads-selling-stolen-goods-on-the-street all mingle together. Ti Couz is still a great go-to place because it's consistently good and is open late!! (where can you eat in SF a sunday night at 10pm). Parking is challening during peak hours. Review #29
