I'm a class act. Really baby, I mean it. So when I realized that I hadn't seen a close friend in a long time she suggested that she bring over some DVD and we hang out and catch up. It was a cold and rainy night so I asked her to come my way (what a gentleman?!). I also have a nicer TV and she likes my roommate. ANYWAY. None of us were very hungry when we started the movie and cracked open our first 40oz. Then the real hell began... a movie called 'Nacho Libre' it was so flipping awful I can't begin to tell you. I mean, someone made this movie? Someone signed off on this pile of garbage? Yuck. Quickly we found the urge to eat but not the bravery to leave the house. Autumn suggested that we get chinese, so Wild Pepper it was. For $30 we got enough food to feed a small army... mostly because the portions are massive and they give you free noodles or nice or something when you order hella food... I think. I don't really know. I was on 40oz. #3 already. Moral of th Review #17708

OK, I admit it - I love this place. First I ordered take out on a Saturday night. The food arrived fast, hot, fresh and delicious. The menu is interesting and different - not the run of mill dishes you find elsewhere. And the value is amazing - some of the lowest prices I've seen anywhere (and I've see a lot!). Then I went there. Wow. Tastefully decorated and clean as a pin. The wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. And music you can actually enjoy food by. And the owners are so friendly! You feel like you are a privileged guest at a friend's restaurant. I went twice, each with a different chinese friend has owned restaurants or worked as a chef. They tell me this place has 3 chefs and can cook dishes that compare to the finest chinese restaurants in the bay area. You just have to ask for what you want. Or ask the waiter to help you order - it doesn't even have to be on the menu! OK, I'll say it again. "I love this place. Four Stars! A must try!! Review #15712

Went to Wild Pepper for lunch and sampled a few dishes. My favorite was the Szechwan Crispy Beef but I also enjoyed the Minced Chicken Lettuce Cups, and the Lemon Fish. The décor is nice simple and clean, and the service was great! This place makes a great lunch spot. Review #15489

Looking for good chinese? Hidden in a non-commercial niche neighborhood in the South Mission stands the Wild Pepper. A casual chinese restaurant serving up spicy (mostly) Szechwan cuisine in a clean unpretentious dining room. The service is friendly, the food is tasty and the prices are affordable. Go for the Chef's Specials, we did and were not disappointed. The Minced Chicken Lettuce Cups (a must try) were the best I've had anywhere and the Szechwan Crispy Beef was cooked perfectly but could have used a little more spicy red pepper, next time I'll ask for extra spicy. We also tried the Lemon Fish, which is breaded and fried flounder fillet in a sweet lemon sauce, very nice. They serve lunch, dinner and even offer free delivery. If they were closer to my home I'm sure I'd be there every week. Enjoy! Review #15488

Wild Pepper is a good, affordable chinese restaurant. I am a huge chinese food fan and have tried restraunts in most major cities from coast to coast including many in SF. While not all the food is great they do have some excellent dishes.. Try the Basil Tofu and the Kung Pao Prawns...both excellent! delivery is fast...food arrives hot...free fried rice with two entrees. And a local neighborhood restaurant without pretense. Support the locals! Review #15475

This chinese restaurant which is located deep in the mission pleasantly surprised me. We started off with some sweet and sour soup, fried wontons and then some pot stickers all very yummy :-). Next we tried the lemon fish, it was very sweet and enjoyable however the beading on the fish could be reduced. The star of the lunch was the minced chicken lettuce cups, they were just perfect. There seems to be a lack of chinese restaurants in the mission and I'm sure this place will help fill the void well. Over all a nice unpretentious chinese restaurant, with friendly service and reasonable prices. Worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood. Review #15437

This is my favorite chinese take out place. Everything dish you order is really fresh. Even the fried rice is light and not soaked in grease. Kung Pao Tofu is the best! Review #12678

We ordered food tonight from Wild Pepper.... not only did the food arrive in only 10 minutes, it was so hot and fresh that the styrofoam packaging was warped from the heat. That is my kind of hot and fast delivery! Once we got over that phenomenon, we sat down to a delicious chinese meal with ample portions and FREE rice! We are big fans of Alices but they lack delivery. Wild Pepper is destined to become our favorite take-out in the neighborhood! (Can't wait to try other things... they have a very diverse menu...) Tried this restaurant for lunch ,but was not overly impressed. We ate clams in black bean sauce and fish fillets in a lemon sauce. Both were ok although the portion size of the fish dish seemed a little small for the price. Service was fine and the restaurant looks clean. Based on the food we had and the prices charged ,I think many other chinese restaurants provide a better deal. Review #11145
