“ Great cheapy late-night spot opens 'til 2:30am. Serves typical San Francisco thai fare including stir-fry noodles and rice plates. Takes 3-5 minutes for the food to come out cuz they know how hard you danced all night. My absolute favorite is the Roast Duck Fried Rice, prepared with perfection at this location ONLY. Hits the grease spot each time, but you have to remember to add their hot sauce! I also get cravings for their Pad thai, prepared more tangy than salty (though some people prefer the latter). Those are basically the only two dishes I order here. I come here when I get a craving for either one, or when I want a bite past mid-nite. Tom Yum Noodle Soup lovers please go to thai House Express on Larkin/Geary instead.

“
I frequently enjoy thai cuisine and I went to King of thai for the first time last week. I was impressed with the quick and friendly service. The counter with all of its activity, the small dining area, the flatscreen television playing random shows - it really reminded me of Bangkok! The food is quickly prepared and seems quite fresh. We started with the Tom Yum Gai, which was a nice balance between spicy and tangy. My partner had the Pad See Eu, which I wish I ordered as well. The little bit I nibbled was splendid. I had the (real) Crab Meat friend rice, which was fine enough, although a bit bland. Some of the bean sauce from the Pad See Eu would have done wonders to the dish. All in all, we enjoyed our casual food-stop at King of thai. I would definitely go back for a tasty lunch. ”

“ This one is larger than the one 4 blocks away, but equally deliscious. Writing this one to comment on the speed of their service. I recently ordered some duck fried rice to go so I could take it over to The Bitter End. I used the restroom there, and by the time I was out, it was ready. The staff was friendly as usual. This was all at like midnight, so I can't comment on their speed in the daytime, but at night, they are crazy fast, and cheap, which is great when you're out hungry and broke.

“
There is nothing royal about this place or it's blaaaaa thai food. This one is better then the other location which could do anything right. I do not recommend at all. With tons of thai places opening every day. Give one of them a chance. I guess wisdom does not come with age....HUH... ”

“ This place is great for students or anyone on a budget because the food is tasty for its price. Kao Pad Gai Tod under house specialties is my favorite there because it is fried chicken in strips with fried rice and sweet dipping sauce.

“ Super fast thai food with great prices. Plenty of noodles, soups, and thai type stuff. Everything I had was tasty. I would avoid the fish sauce on the tables though. ”

“ thai Noodle House is cheap cheap cheap. vegetarian red thai curry is a winner (about $6). Chicken with cashews is flavorful and full of garlic overtones. TNH is also open late. Big warning: don't eat the soups. I'm not a picky eater by any means, meaning I'll eat it if it's edible and I'm hungry, but I ordered a lemon grass and coconut soup once that was so bitter I didn't eat three bites. The staff was very kind, asked me if I wanted to save the soup for later or order something else; I said no thanks, I just didn't like it; they didn't charge us for it. We tipped well. I'll return, definitely, but not for soup. ”

“ This review is for King of thai noodle house (same owners) near 8th ave., the small one at the bus stop. If you want fast fresh and tasty simple thai food this should be one of the top on your list. The place and menu is simple, you won't find complex, pricey, fusion dishes here, you also won't find a lot of dishes you expect to find at full service thai restaurants, this is a noodle house afterall.
I haven't had any of the curries here as it appears from the menu (because you can choose the type of meat) that they have a base sauce and add the meat aftewards which of course doesn't allow the meat to fully adsorb the flavors of the curry sauce. I personally prefer the meat be simmered in the sauce for some time, but that's me. I highly recommend the rice plates, stir fried noodle dishes and the noodle soups. Mmmm mmmm goood They are open late too! ”

“ If I don't go to Marnee thai, I come here. I end up at King of thai all the time with a good friend. Something about sitting in there and watching the Clement Street life stroll by. I've not had a bad dish yet. The service is not very friendly. ”

“ OK, this place is a complete hole in the wall, but it's open really late, the food is served up really fast, and its completely decent. Here's the hidden weapon: DUCK FRIED RICE. This dish is the absolute destination-maker of this restuarant. Because the duck is so greasy, it's like duck rice confit, with the rice fried in the duck fat. If that doens't sound good to you, you must be vegetarian... ”
