yes, there will be a wait. but it's worth it. everything here has a certain something special about it, making it extra yummy. i'm an especially big fan of the polenta, but everything here is great. don't let its popularity fool you. something about the flavors and accents and little ways that things are served is just extra delicious and wonderful here. After hearing not so great reviews about Boogaloos I decided to disregard this breakfast joint that is my neighborhood for years. After being persuaded by a friend recently to give it a try (yes there is always a wait for brunch.. but since Revolution Coffee is across the street its really not a big deal to grab a latte and by the time you drink it you will be seated). YUM YUM YUM! I have been back twice in the last month. They have yummy design your own scrambled eggs and latin inspired breakfast specials... I love me some scrambled eggs, black beans and polenta cake! Plus they have mimosas..... new fav breakfast joint in the Mission! Review #20147

among the many brunch options this city has to offer, i find boogaloos to be the most down to earth, comfortable, chill, and tasty. it's not super fancy, so if you like your brunches to be the worlds richest and most complicated, this is not the place to go. but its yummy, it has good mimosas, the vegetarian biscuits and gravy is awesome, and all in all its worth the wait. Tasty! We went during the world cup finale, so there wasn't much of a line, which was nice. The service was fun & friendly, the fresh grapefruit juice was wonderful, and the food was great. The plantain cake was fantastic - a bit sweet, with rich flavor, and the tamarind sour cream sauce on top was a great accompaniment. Good bacon too - just the right mix of salty/porky/charry. Too many tasty things to try, I'll have to be back. Review #16393

Everyone i went with loved their food, it is a bit pricey for what you get, i'm used to breakfast food being a bit less expensive. They have quite a few Veggie option and the service was fast, if not a bit distracted, they completely forgot my drink order and tried to charge me for it anyway. The food was so good though, not your usual breakfast fare, so i'll definitely be going back. Review #16033

Wow! This place is floating on a fountain of hype! Food=so so quality, overpriced, it is great that they have some veggie options, but I have had several drab and dry egg preperations from here. Staff= terrible, cold shouldered and pretentious, I and others have had multiple occasions where servers acted as if they were doing us a enormous favor to do any of the typical services of a waitstaff person. I didn't join SFsurvey to badmouth establishments in my city but I couldn't believe the unbridled blind love for this s**tty hipster hang out. Herbivore (one block away) has terrific breakfast entries and a sweet staff to boot, and Valencia pizza and Pasta (two blocks away) has greasy, cheap, tasty plates for the meat eaters and veggies alike. Simply said, this place is overpriced, staffed by folks who act as they would rather be dead the do their job, and crowded by oblivious only-safe-in-a-crowd hipsters. Only redeeming quality; champagne and grapfruit juice. Don't do the boogalo Review #15247

There's always a huge line here on the weekend mornings, so when I was walking by early this AM, I decided to stop in to have breakfast. What I had was really basic, and it seemed a little over priced for what it was, and for what Boogaloos is: a little Mission style diner place. I suppose if I was big into hash browns, tofu scramble and all that, it would get me all excited but I'm not." Review #13850

I love this little restaurant!~ The best hangover cure! The only problem is sometimes the wait can be a bit long bcuz no one wants to leave after a "food coma"...but it is well worth the wait. I have never had a bad meal or a rude waiter:) Review #13801

Good eats. Has a nice vegetarian menu. Tried their breakfast burrito as well as their 3-egg omelet. Both were very good and definitely worth it. Love the fact that their is a "$1 fine for using cell phones in dining area" Review #11413

I've been a few times and have been happy with each experience. The last time I was there the wait was only about 20 minutes. We arrived around noon on a Sunday. The food was quick, reasonable, and tasty. The eggs benedict is good. The breakfast burrito was a bit plain. Review #11104

really great food! so many choices. eggs of all kinds, soy meats as well as real meats, different kinds of pancakes, and it's all good. yes the wait is intimidating and some days it's gone faster than others. don't go on a weekend if you're already hungry before you get there, you'll just be irritated. friendly staff, tho. they really try their best to get your order quickly and correctly. Boogaloos is worth going to even with the long lines. The breakfasts are solid with alot of vegetarian options for your healthy friends. I for one still go for their tasty scrambles, or breakfast combos with eggs, bacon and pancakes. They definitely get busy on the weekends, but rolling through on a weekday is a piece of cake. Not up to par with the Just for You Cafe breakfasts, but a good option for a Sunday breakfast with friends if you decide that you've eaten at the Pork Store on Sunday too often. Review #9927

Sadly, I don't go here anymore. Just cannot bear the wait. Exceptional food and super tasty vegetarian dishes. Wish they stayed open later and served the same food all day and all nite. That way SOME of us might get a chance to enjoy the food and not feel guilty about the long line of starving people waiting on the sidewalk. Review #9926

This place is great. I don't think it's fair to "neutral" reviews based on the popularity (long lines), just be forwarned, or go on a weekday. The thing is all those other people in line clearly think it's worth it! Don't hold that against the restaurant. Review #9535

Eh, I am not sure that I have the patience to wait in line for this restaurant for breakfast again. I mean, you put your name in, find the nearest SF Weekly stand & grab a paper, and by the time you're bored of the paper, your fingers are all inked up from the newsprint and you still have a half an hour more to wait. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the food. It's good! Just not worth the wait. Review #8377

cool combo of interesting, flavorful and sometimes unique items with your standard breakfast/brunch fare. They also have a lunch menu, but i can't comment b/c i was too busy deciding between the brunch items. I was thoroughly pleased with the Eggs & Polenta dish which comes with salsa fresca, black beans, sour cream and cilantro. yum. We went on a weekday and sat immediately and had great service and fine coffee. Review #8324

Everyone raves about breakfast at Boogaloos, and it definitely is worth raving about. The place doesn't look like much, but very good, healthy vegetarian friendly breakfast options, and plenty for the carnivore as well. Too bad the mission hipsters swarm here on weekends, so the wait can be awful. Review #6053

I love everything about this breakfast/lunch spot. Great biscuits and jalapeno corn muffins, weekend brunch specials that come with coffee and orange juice or mimosa, coffee while you wait for a table. Bright, casual atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. Review #4815
