The thai fried rice is sooooo good here. It's the only thing I get. IT doesn't matter what type of meat...as long as it's fried rice. It's soooooo good. Patrick and his family are so nice they make me and my husband feel comfortable. I'll eat here for as long as it's open Review #7263

I love this thai restaurant because the food is excellent and they are open LATE. The pad thai is surprisingly good, the coconut soup is good, all their curries are good as well. Watch the spice as it can get very spicy if you ask for it. Check it out. Review #6122

There is something good on 6th Street, it's Pat thai Express. Fresh & Spicy. Try the many curries from pumpkin to mango. Basic pad thai is just the right amount of everything. Definitely worth a try - probably better as take-out than dining in. Review #5678

~UPDATE~ I am downgrading thi place to neutral...maybe it should be negative....probably. We had the Tom Kha soup tonight...it tasty kinda gritty....which makes sence since when i got to the bottom of my soup there was a huge pile of dirt...YES ...ACTUAL DIRT. None of the other items were as good as usual either. I have ordered from here a half dozen times...always decent. Oddly enough the Pad thai is the worst thing that I have tried on the menu. Tom Kha Chicken soup is excellent, as is the hot green curry...the noodle dishes are a bit lackluster...not bad for delivery...they are really efficent and friendly Review #5649

This tiny place is right next to Tu Lan vietnamese restaurant and so all the things said about the neighborhood applies to Pad thai Express. The restaurant seats about 20 people and acceptably clean. I tried the Roast Duck in Red Curry w/rice ($6.50). Requested that it was spicy, which they responded with a small spoonful of red pepper flakes on top of the bowl of curry. Sorry, not spicey enough. Most of the bowl was undercooked onions and maybe only 3 pieces of duck. :-( boo hoo, the curry wasn't as fragrant as I'd hoped but at least the fresh basil in it perked it up. My friend had the Pad thai ($5.95)and enjoyed it very much - fresh, flavorful- but there was a lot of oil left on the plate when he finished. Note that this place offers brown rice for $1. I'll go back to try others as the price is right and b/c of the other dishes recommended by the other reviews. Review #5448

I totally agree with the other reviewers- Pad thai Express serves up fresh and tasty thai food with super friendly service. A friend and I split the veggie pad thai and the veggie red curry with brown rice and both were excellent. They offer TONS of veggie options including pumpkin curry and mango curry! The cook/owner came out to greet us after our meal and brought us complimentary fresh mango for dessert. She also told us she makes all of her curries from scratch - not from the can like most thai places use. For our two meals with tax we paid $14 total. Not a great neighborhood but great, clean, friendly place not far from the Civic Center. I'd definitely go back. Review #5322

Very fresh ingredients. Good service and flavorful food. Tried the red curry with pork, requested it spicy... it was just right. Had bamboo shoots, pumpkin, carrots, and eggplant. This place had the hot sauce and fish sauce out in nice bottles... most others have peanuts, sugar and crushed red peppers. It's really close to Tu Lan, where I was originally going, but decided to try this place again. I'm glad I did. Review #4748

Tasty, fresh and friendly service. Co workers and I discovered this hidden gem on 6th street when it first opened less then a year ago. Every dish I have had has been satisfying, filling and a great value. My favorites are pumpkin curry with tofu, spicy eggplant, param tofu with peanut sauce, just delicious! The vegetables are fresh and crisp. Lots of flavor with carrots, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, onions. Outstanding service, food and a friendly atmosphere for lunch or dinner, work, theater or before a show. One block from Civic Center BART/MUNI. Review #4702
