I recently tried a gyro wrap. Very quick service, inexpensive and huge, servings. Not the place for atmosphere, but the place was packed at lunchtime. I enjoyed it a lot and will return. Review #16718

These guys are the worst. They put walnuts in their hot sauce with even listing it on the menu. I want to sue them, anybody that can help is greatly appreciatted. Not only did they get rude when I asked them about the issue, they kicked me out and said they'd refuse me service in the future. I hope that these guys learn to treat their customers better and a little more respect. Review #15070

During the break for jury duty today, I had a chance to come here and grab lunch. The line was OUT the door and inside was packed with no seats at all nor did the outside have seats. I ordered the lamb shish kebab. It wasn't really as good as I thought it would be and since it was so packed I expected a lot but my sandwich wrap thing had almost no meat inside.. probably two small kebabs with lots of lettuce. and it was cold... I don't think I would go again. Review #14418

I've only had the falaffel wrap but they did a great job with that. my friend had the gyro and he enjoyed it. the place doesn't have much in the way of atmosphere but the food is tastey and it's a decent price and brought quickly enough. it's a good place to grab something on t he run. I've only had nice staff--even the toothless guy at the door smiles nicely at me. Lamb gyros here are the way they should always be--heaping full of meat! Good tsatzyki. Somehow they're always out of diet soda when I go here, so I've learned to bring my own. If you don't like small spaces don't do this place. Review #10951

I came here after recieving my hepA&B shots at the health dept on grove st. Sound fun? (They do a great job if you need to get immunizations for travelling) ANYWAY---enough about that. With a name like Gyro King, i think I might have been best off getting a gyro---but alas--I did not. The greek salad was nice (feta was FABULOUS)...but it was no gyro and as I saw all the lovely gyros coming out I wished I had ordered one. I will go back and try one. The spot itself is tiny and non-descript...but portions are big, prices are reasonable and service is efficient. If you are in the 'hood' pop by for a snack Review #10271

The only things not to like about this place are the crowds and the limited hours. I just wish it was open at dinner time. Sure, the gyros are great, but try some of the yummy Turkish pastries made on-site or any of the other Turkish specialites. And the people running it, especially the women, are wonderful. The size of the gyros are big and it's good. The price is a little over $5. It is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, so you might go by it without even noticing. It does get crowded during lunch hour. Review #7062

The falafel wrap here are great - you can taste the chickpeas! Their chicken dish is a must try- call and order it first b/c it takes them about 10 minutes to prepare it. Don't forget to finish with the homemade deserts. Lots of seats to eat your lunch/meal. Review #6471

Sometimes you just want a Gyro, and I had my craving after watching a Seinfeld episode. Gyros are pretty standard fare, and the Gyro King was better than most. Large portions, flavorful lamb, a good spot to run in, grab a meal to chow down or take on the road. Not too many offerings for a quick bit in the Civic Center area so this is a good option. All the other positive reviews on this place convinced me to give it a try. It was well worth it. My lamb gyro was tasty and pretty generous for the price. Great rice pudding for dessert. Although I was pretty full from the gyro, I just had to try the rice pudding for dessert since it looked (and tasted) delicious. Many of the other menu items (most of which are displayed in a glass counter up front) looked quite yummy so I can see I'll have to go back again so I can sample more of the dishes here. Review #5290

With a name like Gyro King and a complete lack of decor, you might be tempted to walk by, but the food is GREAT! Really fresh, everything on the menu is well prepared, cheap, and very decent portions. Great lunch spot, and a destination if you are going to the Library or asian Art museum etc. Review #5216

Very good food at affordable prices. Their gyros and chicken pie are excellent. I've also heard that their eggplant salad is really good, but I haven't tried it since I'm not a big eggplant fan. The place is small, and parking is difficult to find in the area though. Review #4985

This place serves up giant gyros, at a reasonable price ($6-$8 for a gyro). Their meats are quite tasty, especially the lamb. And like the first reviewer, I tried one of their eggplant dishes (eggplant flavored with spices and perhaps balsamic vinaigrette), and it was excellent. Something I need to go back and order again. And their chicken pies are very good too. A good place to go if you want a quick bite to eat. I haven't tried their desserts yet (baklava), but I will order it next time I'm not so full. Review #4092

Excellent freshly prepared dishes. Try their eggplant dishes or their boureks. They have very sweet syrupy deserts and this excellent rice pudding. If you ask nicely they have some tea available in those 3 oz. glass cups. I'm pretty sure family run, has a good feel to it, though the man at the register can be could be considered "mean". He's pretty nice actually. The breads are all really good. Review #4077
