It was a tad expensive, but that's to be expected considering the restaurant. I would definitely consider this a Mother's Day kinda place. The brunch is killer. I would go back and eat there on a Sunday again, but I'll have to start saving now. It's not cheap. Review #14010

Atop the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel at the top of very steep Mason Street, the Top of the Mark has been a hot spot for meeting that special date or binging friends from out-o-town for years. Decor is very sharp & modern and dress code business casual...dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings, and my fav the lavish Sunday brunch. Make your ressies, sellouts are common. Review #7199

The remodel ruined the Top of the Mark. This used to be a great, old-school SF bar. Big drinks, old waiters, nice jazz, and a view to boot. With the fancy "cool" remodel a number of years ago the Top lost its heritage. Now the waiters look down their noses at you if you aren't clad in Prada. My husband and I went for drinks on a Sunday afternoon and would have liked seconds, but the waiter couldn't stop looking at himself in the mirror long enough to bring a second round. Yes, I like a couple of cocktails, and I like them brought to me quickly. In a place that's mainly a *cocktail lounge* what's wrong with that? Review #6624

Want to feel like a millionaire, have some drinks at the top of the mark, and pretend your having a party in your penthouse living room :-), I have only been here for drinks. The grandiose views match the prices; I bought a round of drinks for eight the cost was $135. Top of the mark is a San Francisco landmark because of its views, if thats your thing, go on a clear night and bring your camera Review #6464

Blah I have officially blacklisted this place. They have a great view of the city in a beautiful hotel and I would have considered it a wonderful wedding reception location. Due to horrible stuffy pretentious service, the place completely puts me off. Mind you I dress nice and carry myself well but the whole vibe there is very un-San Francisco. Also, there is an entertainment charge after 9pm per person. This isn't unreasonable since most places in SF do this. What is unreasonable is if you come there before 9pm and you stay even 1 minute past 9pm, they sneakily try to slip the charge into your bill. Again, this wouldn't be a problem if they told guests in advance that the entertainment charge is for all patrons after 9pm, not just patrons arriving after 9pm. Review #6450

Huge Dissapointment! The steep hill location does not merit the steep wallet prices. The brunch is uber-substandard. Horrible cold, food not fresh. Is there anything worse than cold runny scrambled eggs? Top of the Mark might be a nifty place to stop in for some views and a cocktail ...but definitly SKIP IT for brunch! Review #3992
