Neutral Cuisine: Dessert Gelato Crepes Chinatown
The place is clean, and cheery, lots of flavors to choose from. Not a bad choice if you are in the neighborhood and are in the mood for gelato. Compared to other gelato I have had however, this rates pretty poorly, although it is not that bad in and of itself. The ingredients are clearly of the cheaper variety here. If you want the real deal, try one of the Naia locations throughout the Bay for an outstanding example of how it is supposed to taste (2 locations in Berkeley, one in the Castro, several others). I would not willingly go back to Yoogo. Review #18498

Neutral Cuisine: Dessert Gelato Crepes Chinatown
Back in July, I had a very strange experience with Yoogo Gelato. My sister and I needed a quick pick-me-up while we were wandering in that Chinatow-Northbeach border and stopped into grab a scoop. We got the moccha gelato, but here's the thing: It tasted distinctly like chocolate and green tea rather than chocolate and espresso! And not for the better. Since I really enjoy desserts -- especially gelato that's the real deal -- Yoogo goes on my list of places I'll probably avoid in the future. But don't let my one off experience dissuade you from trying it for yourself. The shop is pretty clean and customer service wasn't bad. Just don't order anything with a coffee flavor. Review #18139

This place was a great surprise discovery I recently made while visiting San Francisco. They specialize in unusual and incredibly delicious flavors of gelato I've never seen anywhere else. Their 'Black Sesame' is one of the best ice cream eating experiences I've had ever, bar none. Where else can you get homemade gelato flavors like "Horlicks" (a British malted milk) and "Ovaltine"? Highly recommended. Definitely for connoiseurs. The closest thing in L.A, equally unique and different from Yoogoo, is 'Mashti Malone' on La Brea in Hollywood, where you can get super-rich homemade persian ice cream with chunks of whole-milk cream and rosewater flavoring, my second best favorite next to Yoogoo's 'Black Sesame'. Ben & Jerry's eat your heart out.... Review #6907

Great location on Broadway/Columbus so you can stop by to get dessert after some late night drinking around the area. It's your standard asian dessert shop, but the one big plus is that it's open later than most places. Review #5014

Positive Cuisine: Dessert Gelato Crepes Chinatown
This gelato/crepe place is very cute-sy. It's opened quite late. It's not the best gelato nor crepe that I have had, but I like the environment (they play music videos in the background), and I like the decor (very colorful with lots of funky chairs). They have pretty unique gelato flavors, like black sesame and lychee. Review #3705
