If you love grease, and you love lots of it on lots of food, then you'll love the Pork Store Cafe. Huge portions of breakfast type hangover foodstuff. I really love that they have the old-school shredded style hash browns instead of home-fries. You can get a pancake shaped like Mickey, which is extra good with blueberries on top. I've never waited more than 10 minutes for a table even though the place is usually packed. Review #20648

I was here yesterday for a late lunch. I got the california burger and fries (avocado, monterey cheese and sprouts). the burger was good, but the fries were tasteless and somewhat stale. the server was very nice, but since it was about 230 or 3ish all the servers were trying to get things ready for closing at 4 so they were at best a bit distracted. since i didn't need much and wanted a little privacy this suited me fine. the price was good, the burger was a little more cooked than i'd asked for but still tastey and they actually remembered the extra tomato. so i'm kinda back and forth here with them. i'd go here again tho, if in the mood. One of my favorite people in the world had her birthday brunch here with friends and family. We were a large party (15 people) and I was dreading a very long wait and being sandwiched in by diners on either side. This was NOT the reality, we had a reservation and they set up a long table out back to accommodate us. The menu was extensive and the portions were large for the price. I had my mind set on biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were nice and fluffy; the gravy was made with bacon instead of sausage. I prefer the spicy sausage gravy my mom makes but my Mom is a 4-hour drive away, so I'll settle for the pork store. I was very curious about the chicken fried steak (next time), as I have not found a good one in California. Everyone was happy and it was a wonderful afternoon, we were not rushed out. Good place for groups as apposed to the tiny Haight location. I enjoyed it and will return. Review #18496

Reasonably priced, but just mediocre food. Granted, it was 11:30pm on a Friday, so we were lucky to find a place that was even open. I had the mozzarella sticks (pretty good), and veggie melt (a bit flavorless, esp. considering the onions), and side salad (bizarre bleu cheese dressing--not recommended!). Not to be overlooked if you find yourself in the neighborhood late at night, though--the kitchen's open until 1am. Review #16729

The spicy chipotle sausage is fantastic! The fresh squeezed OJ was non-pulpy, and a little on the sour side, so sort of disappointing, and the bacon was of the thinner, less porky-flavored kinda ordinary variety, so also sort of disappointing. But it's generally pretty tasty stuff. Review #16401

Come hungry and prepared to be a piggy at this insanely yummy greasy spoon establishment on Haight St. (and one in the Mission). Well worth the inevitable wait for large portions of heart stopping hangover pleasers. Cheap and YUM. Review #15920

Pretty yummy and not overpriced. Two thumbs up for giving out coffee to the people waiting in line...brilliant! Hard to justify the wait more than a couple of times a year but worth it once in a while. Review #12530

Obviously a really popular place for breakfast on weekends so be prepared to wait. I opted to eat at the bar to cut the wait time down. The egg choices are really good. I had a yummy "Birds Nest" of eggs, home fries and veggies. Interesting history to the place-but I guess that is the other location in the Haight and this one is newer. It is loud, but you should expect that with so many people. Review #12517

If you go there for breakfast on the weekend...BRING YOUR OWN MICROWAVE! The food would have been great if it was served even warm. I ordered breakfast there twice and the eggs were actually cold...not tepid or even cool but cold. The hash browns were setting in their gelaten like grease and the french toast seemed so dated it may have flown in from France! The service was ok...not great at getting coffee to us or checking on our water. But she was nice. The first time I thought...well it looks busy. The second time I thought, HELL IF SAINT ANTHONY SOUP KITCHEN CAN HANDLE 700 DINNERS HOT WHY CAN 'T THE PORK STORE GET EITHER OF MY TWO BREAKFASTS HOT! I recommend you go down the street to any of the worthy 300+ restaurants in the city and avoid the PORK STORE, that is until they can figure out how to serve hot food! Review #11020

I have had many a great breakfast here. Good and greasy if you need it with that hangover. But don't make the mistake of going there for dinner. Needed a kid friendly spot in the area for family in town. Philly steaks were on a hard roll...all bread/no meat. Pasta dish, which I thought would be safe, was sooo spicy it was almost inedible. And I love hot food! uggish. Stick with the morning menu. Review #9923

All the classic breakfast foods plus some California style originals. The food was plentiful and tasty. The blueberry pancakes were kinda dull, but everything else was grubbin'. Not for those who are watching their calories or their carbs. Parking can be a headache and though the place is spacious, there can still be a line around 11:30am or so on weekends. Prices are very reasonable, but the service was lackluster though friendly. Review #8715

A little on the greasy side. Good service. In a town that is short on breakfast places, this one is ok. I probably will go again sometime. Not a wait in primetime b/c it is it spacious. Review #7691

Wow! Yum. I had the pork chop breakfast, and it came with TWO pork chops. I had enough to take one home. The prices are totally reasonable, and our food came to the table very quickly. I am excited to try the Haight location. (I've heard it's even better, due to the big grill!) Review #6787

This place has it all. good place, good service, good prices, and fast. And the pancakes, ohhhhh the pancakes, I used to think the only way I'd get a GREAT pancake was to make it myself....that doesn't apply here....try the blueberry banana it's my favorite. That with a nice peice of homemade sausage. Better hit the gym..... Review #6161

I know they're supposed to have great breakfast here, but I haven't had it. The food was tasteless, and the service was a complete nightmare. In one meal, we were moved, had water dumped on our new table, they forgot to take our order, they forgot to prepare our food. It was like the twilight zone it was so bad. Review #6071

The pancakes and sausages tasted good. The servings were big. Mimosa was an interesting drink on the menu. The place was big and it had outdoor seating, which is good on a sunny day. The only bad thing was the bathroom. Prepared to hold your breath before you go in. Review #5398

This it it! The number one breakfast in San Francisco. It is a ritual of ours to see who wakes up the earliest on the weekend to rouse our friends out of bed to avoid the Noon Lines on the weekend. Regardless, we will wait impatiently for our food while kind waiter(ess) serve you coffee. The wait staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive. The food! MMMMM! Bacon, thick and yummie, sausage, well-spiced, SAUSAGE-GRAVY, true to it's title, Breakfast steak, seasoned with their own dry rub, SPINACH!!!, biscuit, fluffy/ I could go on, You got the idea I hope. THIS IS SAN FRANCISCO's BEST BREAKFAST. I heard the location in the Mission got it's Liquor License so if you need that Bloody Mary head over there. Review #4671

The menu offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch plates and the food IS good, but the real reason why I love this place is because I can get a table for 6 on a Saturday or Sunday morning without waiting forever. What more could you want? Review #3391
