Went here on a Saturday evening with my best friend. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant so no stress in finding a parking spot which is a great thing. Food was okay for me as I ordered the veggie tempura which was light and crispy & their veggie sushi platter which were the avocado, cucumber & oshinko (yellow radish) maki rolls which we shared which were good. My best friend ordered the Tempura Udon noodles which wasn't so good according to her--tasteless....even soy sauce wouldn't make it taste better. Sad because Udon is such a simple dish to make even getting the noodles @ the Japantown grocery store would've been ALOT better. I don't think we will be back after this experience. Your best bet is to go to Kitaro on 22nd & Geary which has better rolls and prices!

Won a free dinner thanks to sfsurvey and took my best friend here on a saturday evening. Soluna is a hidden gem located in the Civic Center area of the city. The food, ambience & service was great--thanks to our waitress Camille who did a great job! Loved the art that was hung on the walls. My best friend ordered the prixe fix meal which was great at $35 for 3 items. She had the warm goat cheese salad, white seabass & dessert: white chocolate, vanilla cream brulee. I had the warm goat cheese salad, sweet corn, tomato risotto which was yummy, but a little on the salty side and we shared the truffle & parmigano-reggiano fries which were yummy, but were a little soggy. All in all we had a good time at Soluna and would love to check out brunch sometime. Thanks again for the great service to our waitress Camille and thanks to sfsurvey for yet another yummy dinner!

my boyfriend & i went here on a sunday evening. lydia's is located in downtown fairfax not too far from san rafael. our waitress was friendly and attentive. there were so many items that looked really yummy and finally I decided on the Ocean Friendly Nori Roll (sprouted almond pate, avocado, cucumber, lettuce wrapped in nori with salad) which was $11. for a drink i decided on the berry almond shake--YUM! my boyfriend had their raw sandwich with almond pate, lettuce & avocado--it was really good too. he had the Chai Ice Tea which was served with Lydia's homemade coconut milk and sweetened with agave nectar. I would definitely come back again. Lydia's is as good as Cafe Gratitude in the city! You gotta check this GEM out in the north bay!

Went here tonight for a late dinner with my family since they were open til 9:30pm. I requested that all dishes to be prepared without the salt of POISON: MSG. it really does make a difference. it's alot healthier. the dishes that i enjoyed (as i'm the only veggie in my family) were the Stew Vegetables (Buddha style) this was prepared well as everything was fresh and the tofu was firm-just the way i like it. the other dish that was good was the stir fried tofu with black mushrooms. there were about 6 other dishes that we ordered and the bill came out to only $68 which was a deal considering it fed 7 people. great that they're veggie friendly. check it out if you're in the inner richmond area.

It's great because they serve everything vegan. The mayo was vegan which is a plus. I had the turkey (soy) sandwich which had tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, lettuce & vegan mayo & mustard. It was really good and had a kick to it as it was peppery. I will definitely come back to try another sandwich maybe the soy BBQ steak...sounds interesting.

Had dinner at Cafe Rouge with my cousin and aunt on a Saturday evening. Hostess was friendly and very accommodating as I had to push out my reservations due to traffic on the Bay Bridge. Parking was easy to find right across the street in the lot. Cafe Rouge was a cute restaurant and was what I expected it to be. Food was very good. We started off with a salad that we shared--argula with snap peas, tomatoes which was really good. Both my cousin and I had the spaghetti with sun dried tomatoes, garlic, cilantro with light shavings of cheese on top. I was SO happy that they were veggie friendly. Portions were very generous. We didn't order dessert since we were stuffed. I would recommend Cafe Rouge if you're in the 4th Street, Berkeley area. I'd like to come again with a group of friends.

This is one of the Japanese restaurants that my best friend & I like to go to when we're in the Jtown area. Service is fast & friendly, reasonably priced and their portions are good in size. My best friend loves to order their cold soba noodles with nato (fermented soybean) Nato is not for everyone as it's an acquired taste....YUM! I like their soba noodles with veggie tempura. All meals come with a side salad and miso soup. Their sushi rolls are really good esp their specialty rolls--sometimes too pretty to eat! Check this place out when you're in the Jtown area!

Cafe Gratitude is my BF's and I's favorite RAW restaurant. Service is friendly and food is amazing even if you're not vegetarian/vegan you'll like it! My faves: LIVE pizzas--"I Am Sensational" which is their pesto pizza and " I Am Passionate" marinara pizza. Wednesdays is sushi & sake night--not to be missed. Their sushi is made with sunflower seed pate, avocado and cucumbers wrapped with nori seaweed! WOW! Milk shakes are to DIE for esp "I Am Eternally Blessed,”their coffee milk shake that is cold processed espresso blended with their soft serve vanilla ice cream. Last but not least is Dessert which is HEAVEN! You've got to try their "I Am Cherished" strawberry/mango swirl cheesecake--live cashew cream cheesecake with almond- date crust and "I Am Awakening" key lime pie-creamy key lime custard w/ coconut meringue in a Macadamia crust! I'll definitely be returning again & again! Give Cafe Gratitude a shot you'll thank me & grateful that you did!

Had lunch here with my mom after shopping on Clement Street on a Sunday afternoon. This just opened up a week ago. The original is located in the Tenderloin area. The menu looked really good and we couldn't decide on what to get, so we asked our waitress to recommend some dishes. We ordered the Vietnamese Crepe, Gourmet Vegetable Noodle and the House Rice Clay pot which were all really good. The crepe had Vietnamese mushu filled with tofu, mushroom, bean sprout, jicama, onion. The noodle dish was made with Wheat noodles, vegetables, sautéed tofu & soy protein--which tasted like ham...but wasn't. and it was served w/ a bowl of vegetable broth. The last dish was the House Rice Clay pot that had Tofu, soy protein, mushroom, bean thread and ginger cooked w/ fragrant rice. I'll definitely come back again and try their other dishes--can't wait! It's great that there's a vegetarian/vegan Vietnamese restaurant on Clement street.

You have your choice of kim chee, korean sushi (vegetarian), korean style HOT chicken wings are among the choices you have. My favorite is the korean sushi (kim bop) which is yummy. there's spinach, yellow radish, egg, fish cake. The prices are very reasonable as well. 2 rolls of sushi is only $3.50. been here only once a few years ago as my boss at that time took me here for lunch. they have decent food, but what was annoying was the fire roasting going on...you not only smelled it while you're eating BUT you will smell like like that when you leave...not a good thing!

Miette Cakes use to ONLY do the Tuesdays Farmer's Markets but now since the Ferry Bldg has been open, they've got their own spot inside. This is my favorite little bakery. Not only are their desserts yummy, but they're made with organic ingredients which is great! My faves are their coffee macaroons--they're $1.50 each BUT worth it 'cause that's all you need just one to get your fix for the day! =) then there's their cookies by the bag for $5. My faves here are their chocolate chip, lemon shortbread & chocolate sable. All of their goodies are light and not too sweet. You should drop by sometime if you're in the embarcadero neighborhood.

Last year our company's annual summer picnic we had Memphis Minne's cater it. It was VERY convienent as they came to serve and cook UP in GG park! THe BBQ chicken was really yummie and other co-workers told me that the brisket was great (i don't do red meat) the corn bread was good as well. I'd recommend MM's for a company BBQ picnic! They cater to you while you're having fun in the park....

Went here for a wedding party back in april and have to say that the food was just ok. The theme was hawaiian so it was luau style. They had the poki, the kaluea pig, salad, fruit salad....etc. it was decent, but i don't think that i would go there on my own.

My friends took me here for dinner for my birthday a few months ago. The restuarant was cool and they even had boothes where you could draw the curtains for privacy. The staff was very friendly but the restaurant seemed a little stale and stuffy. The food on the other hand wasn't--that's for sure. We started off with the dungeness crab spring rolls (they use REAL crab to boot none of that imitation stuff!) but to be honest it wasn't worth $15.50...there were only 3 rolls that were cut into 2 slices. I ordered for my entree the miso glazed salmon and it came with mashed potatoes, eggplant tempura (little strips--tasty!) and a little side salad. it was really yummie!
all in all the experience was good.

I've been here a number of times w/in the past couple of years. This past weekend my best friend and I went here for brunch. We both ordered the Kyoto crepe (tofu, green bell peppers, mushrooms & a dab of peanut sauce) with a side salad and house potatoes. YUM! Their Casear salad is really good too. Good portions at a good price. Their ice tea is really good too...it's a fruity mango flavor. If you haven't been here do try it and they've also got a sister crepevine over in cole valley--crepes on cole which is as good too!

my friends were in town and we decided on trying this pizza place as we've heard great things. got there right when they opened at 5pm to beat the crowd and were seated promptly. cool, dim & minimal is what i would describe the atmosphere inside the restaurant. we ordered the large mixed green salad that fed all 3 of us. it was really yummy! we also ordered the large deep dish of the Mediterranean chicken and a small thin crust of the pesto chicken. boy were we blown away with the Mediterranean chicken deep dish...it wasn't doughy like all the other pizza joints are...crust was LIGHT and crispy! they use cornmeal flour and that's why it's SO yummy and crispy and light tasting. we will definitely be back for more. i brought some leftovers for my roommates and they were blown away as well....i will probably be ordering to go sometime in the near future. love this place....and my friends said that this is even better than zachary's! great jukebox & song selections!
