Go here! It's one of the few middle eastern restaurants that offer entrees and they are delicious. I just happened to choose this restaurant in my neighborhood to celebrate my bday. The owner, Husain, went out of his way to accommodate me and my guests. He and his staff are so nice! The food is delicious, wine selection is good, ambiance is nice. And, their belly dancer (brought in by the owner for the celebration) was beautiful and sweet and fun! I had their ground lamb and beef in a sauce of eggplant and dry lime (and other ingredients), th e meat was cooked perfectly, with great seasoning and the sauce was AMAZING! Their dessert of sweet goat cheese, shredded filo dough with rose water is divine!!!! Thank you Baghdad Nights!

Love this place, really believe it is the best Thai in the city. We recently went there early in the evening to avoid the wait. Excellent service and great food as usual. We had a great combo of spring rolls, tom kai gai, eggplant and string beans in garlic sauce, chicken green curry, and a beautiful tasty dish of prawns seated on a zucchini coin in a unique peanut curry sauce (the house curry I believe). Again, I think it is the BEST THAI in the city. So fn good. That's about all I need to say except that my out of town friend agreed and could not stop mmmmmmm (moaning in delight) during his meal. Go there, but go early or you'll wait!

Short version - stay at home and cook for yourself. Long version - ambiance 0 - glaring TV, seated next to two women drinking and conversing creating an invasion of their privacy vibe when there were plenty of seats, friendly staff, albeit waitress was a newbie. Apps: Clams and Mussels - Underdone, Strange Thai Peanut Sugar Sauce when it was to be lemongrass-curry. Poor presentation and raw clam - eww. Duck Spring Roll - Cooked hours before, flavorless, served with another sugary dipping sauce. Entrees: Rib - 5-Spice, and that was all there was to it served with a lump of squash risotto - flavorless and no veggie??? Also, Chicken Clay Pot - Bland as well. Food was just OK, won't be going back. Much better restaurants easier to get to with way better food at the same price.

Went back with a firend - same awkard service, decent food, love that champagne. The food was excellent. We had the miso glazed chicken and the steak. We couldn't even finish our entrees let alone order dessert. They had a very nice champagne on the list from Catalonia and our waiter was lovely. However, the initial experience was not pleasant with the hostess. I had booked my reservation on Open Table and it was not posted in their system. The hostess was very cold and rude and unwilling to seat us. I was unwilling to go away as I had just walked all the way to the Castro form Lower Haight on a cold night. She eventually sat us and she had no problems seating any additional guests that came in. The waiter also did not understand the sfsurvey gift certificate, even tho we told him before we ate that we would be using our GC, he charged us full price and we had to explain that it was a GC again. Kind of bad communication. Food was good tho. Not sure I'll go back.

This is like a freebie review. I like In and Out. It's cheap, fast, fresh food mass produced by Christians. I love surprising my friends with their little bible references printed on the packaging, it "shocks and awes" them. I also like to order the "insiders" burgers. I usually only dine at I-n-O when on the road, but sometimes, I meander down to the Wharf for a cheap treat.

I've eaten here a few times and the food is good. However, it is expensive and as of late, they've been doing some fancy portion bulking like laying rice noodles which are cheap on top of a bed of sprout and lettuce in their basil dish - ewww and my friend had a papaya salad with prawns and they actually cut the prawns (ttl 2) in half??? Also, their brown rice, although a great option, is $2.50. Hmmmm.

Delightful dining experience. Friendly, helpful staff who are engaging. A wonderful environment to dine in. Spacious, airy and casual with elegance. I had a difficult time choosing from their amazing apps to the entrees. Eventually went with the lamb - ohmigawd - delicious!!!! Even recommended to the next table of patrons as they were having difficulties decided over the many wonderful treats. My friends had steak and scallops, we all shared, it was fabulous. Axum is a neighborhood staple of which I've dined in the past more frequently than the present. The prices have soared from what they were 2 years ago (we still are talking cheap tho),service is friendly. Their cilantro salad dressing rocks, and their mushrooms are the best in the city. It's these two items that continue to grant Axum my business. However, there is a better Ethiopian restaurant a few blocks away!

Looking for sit down Mexican food, you found it. Other than that I don't have anything positive to say. Waited in line forever, hostess sat her friends before us. Beans flavorless, Rice-packaged quality, Tacos - OK. (although my friend had one taco served in a soft corn tortilla and the other in a store-bought? hard shell? They do not have Al Pastor or Carnitas, fyi! What Mexican restaurant does not? Price was fine. But your in the mission, buck up and forget the table service and go to any of the nearby taquerias whose food is far better!

My morning JOE! These people are awesome and friendly! The atmosphere is great for a little cafe tucked in a very boring part of town. Upon recommendation from sfsurvey I ordered delivery from this restaurant. We are often disappointed in the quality and flavor of delivery Chinese food but I think this has been the best so far. Chow mein was great, Kung Pao Chicken good, service nice and they went out of their way to deliver to Lower Haight! Only continuing gripe is with the barbecued pork! What is up with this gooey, sugary bbq park? It seems I can only get good bbq park in china town. P.S. My stepmother loved their egg foo young!

My family had an awesome dinner at Farallon. Albeit we went in knowing we'd be spending a small fortune for what was my father's and his twin brother's birthday dinner. The restaurant was very accommodating to our special requests. Food was excellent, portions were perfect, muscat wine was delicious. Service was not rushed to clear our table on a busy Friday night. On the down side, there was a little too long of a lag between courses which was great to converse with family but may have been uncomfortable if we were trying to get to a play. Everyone was very pleased, and that says a lot for my difficult family who have a hard time coughing up big bucks for great service and food!

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! I don't know why San Franciscan's think this is the place for Chinese food. I've always been disapointed with the food here but end up having to go when guests are in town or others say "let's go here". It's one of those ONE SAUCE restaurants. You know, everything taste the same regardless of if it's Kung Pao or General Tso? Portions are small, atmosphere is lively and fun in that crowded excited sense. Otherwise, steer clear!

Great addition to the neighborhood. Thanks to SFsurvey I FINALLY visited this restaurant. Had it not been for this site I probably wouldn't have. The staff is super friendly, excellent jukebox, great atmosphere. Food was good. We had the deep crust pizza combo. It was excellent, Fresh ingredients, best sausage (on a pizza) I've had in town, crust was yummers. We also ordered the chicken wings which were just good/ok. Not the buffalo style but standard roasted spicy. A little bland for my chicken wing needs but the pizza was the tops. A little on the pricey side ($21 for a 10" Deep Dish).

ohmigawd! I know it's Ethiopian food but for American prices I expect more than Ethiopian portions. We ordered a meat plate and a veggie plate for 3. The chicken was literally one little leg, 5 cubes of beef and lamb! We were so hungry from the small portions we actually were eating the bread that it is served on - almost till it was gone! Anyone who knows Ethiopian Cuisine knows you rarely get that far! The honey wine they served us was rancid and the waitress giggled. Never go here! Walk down to lower haight to Axum or Wazema for good Ethiopian Food and Service!

Get your grease on here! Asian grease that is! I love Tu Lan, it's my favorite Vietnamese in the city for anything but Pho. Not psyched on their Pho but the pork is awesome, imperial rolls, spring rolls, all are great! It is a hole in the wall (not the bar down the street) and can be rather crowded and hectic, there is an upstairs! which is good for parties of 4 or more. Otherwise order to go or belly up to the counter and take some xanax as not to get stressed out with all the yelling and people pushing their way in. Happy dining!

Kate's is a nice runner-up to my NUMBER ONE BREAKFAST in SF. My friends like this place. I really can't tell if I don't like this place or like it a little. Firstly, everything has eggs (I'm allergic to eggs). So it makes it very difficult to eat here because they don't have a lot of patience for switching out the eggs for say, more potatoes? Not sure, why it's so hard but anywho. Food is good quality, Cute decor, Just not real charged about Kate's tho.

Regardless, we will wait impatiently for our food while kind waiter(ess) serve you coffee. The wait staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive. The food! MMMMM! Bacon, thick and yummie, sausage, well-spiced, SAUSAGE-GRAVY, true to it's title, Breakfast steak, seasoned with their own dry rub, SPINACH!!!, biscuit, fluffy/ I could go on, You got the idea I hope. THIS IS SAN FRANCISCO's BEST BREAKFAST. I heard the location in the Mission got it's Liquor License so if you need that Bloody Mary head over there.

I had a very enjoyable experience at this restaurant. My beau (who always orders the best plates) had awesome salmon and sides, whereas my prawns over beans and rice could use a little spice although the prawns were fresh and plentiful! Sitting around the counter top bar creates an enjoyable casual dining experience. I look forward to dining here again. I dined here recently for breakfast but was a little disapointed in the homefries. They were the deep fried kind - ewww! Portion was small, not a lot of options. Decent , but definately preferred the evening meal here.

Cheap Date #1: Tommy's and AMC Theater across the street. Get the dinner plate, super cheap $6, I prefer the pastrami and corned beef to the beef brisket, ham or turkey. Mashed potatoes are the watery nasty kind with an au jus/gravy, unless you specify turkey gravy. My favorite pastime is to make the surly servers smile. I can never finish my plate. The sides are so so, it's all about the MEAT! The bar is fully stocked, great old bartenders, lively atmosphere. Quick service.

Q Restuarant is one of my faves and my good ole standards for going out. The menu always has something exciting to choose from as well as the good ole standards, e.g. excellent steak, mac-n-cheese-n-tator-tots, etc. My favorite fare here includes the chipotle mussels (so good you sop up the broth with your focaccia), the steak of course! and some specials that I've enjoyed are the: steak and prawn pasta and steak w/ cabernet bleu cheese reduction sauce! I was a vegetarian until I tried some of Chef Andrew's beef - now I am converted! The wine list is immense, excellent selection, fair prices, a fantastic dinner won't kill your savings account ($100). If you get a chance to go to their dinner parties - I highly recommend it!

Saha is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Chef Mohammed has amazing talent when combining complex spices to simple foods for an end result of dish(es) that play with your senses. Some must haves are the Tiger Prawns, Faouel and Keppeh (sp?/ Meatballs). I really enjoy ordering the small plates and sharing an intimate evening of dining with a friend or my beau.
