Had a brunello that was early but decent, calve's brains (excellent), snails (mediocre), and mackerel. Where else can you get mackerel prepared in sauce or anywhere for that matter on a menu. The food was not authentic Italian but they don't hold themselves out as serving traditional fares. Good for a date.

Go for the early special on the breakfast. I know everyoen's written about the corn beef hash but it is really the only place in town where the meat chunks get that big. Staff is nice as well. Parking always available.

ONly went to the bar for some champagne. The decor is Lloyd Webber-esque. Just enough lighting. Staff nice. I would go back especially in the neighborhood where it is really cheesy (ruby skye) or over the top(clift).

I won a gift certificate to SUMI from SFSurvey so there is no way beggars can give a negative. That being said, the portions were so small and prices did not reflect the food. The flavors were simple. Sushi is the way to go and not fish entrees or side dishes.

Friends came to do the Escape from Alcatraz swim from Sonoma. For some hungry swimmers it was just what they needed. They have a communal sitting area which is great for solo flyers. Their salads were barren ,but ingredients fresh. My dinner was so so. I am picky.

The owner's 'vision' on this place is right on point. Old jazz and blues play in the background as tea is served to your table. It is pleasant despite ambulances that race down Bush Street. A pot costs around $5, to go is more like $2. Whether you are on a Stash budget or like fancier teas such as Tea Forte or Mighty Leaf, their tea selection has something for everyone. Tea is the new coffee as Tues. are the new Thurs.

I truly believe this place is the sweat and passion of a few good souls. The co-owner Seneca Klassen has been featured on Eye on the Bay as well as countless other foodie shows. The man knows a lot about chocolate even the fact that sperm whale is used for some higher end varietals. I have been to two tastings so far and have learned more about chocolate than I can handle. Try their pear/corn muffins or homemade marshmallows. Bar recommendations: Vosages Haute Chocolate-Fire Bar, Michel ___ 55% milk chocolate, earl grey infused tea or orange peel w/ dark minis, Hatez white bar.

Went there w/ co-workers after work for a drink. We were excited b/c they had a large scotch menu. Too bad they did not have anything on it we ordered. Their scotch selection is more like 12 year Glen Livet and that is about it. The waitress was talking too much and we left early. Their Alexander Valley Pinot was empty and tasted like wet dog. What a mess.

In 2004, I attending the King's Bday in Bangkok and tried a piece of durian at the festivities. I learned after a week in bed that I was allergic to durian despite that I thought it tasted pretty good. So when I saw there was durian ice cream here I was bummed I couldn't eat it. But that doesn't mean others should'nt try it. They are in Sunset and it can be a long ride ,but what the hell..

There are so many reviews written about this place I wondered whether I should post at all. The ban xeo is worthy of posting! Although it is not very 'authentic' it is still delish. It reminds me of being in Danang. The bar upstairs has a great selection of tawny ports. It is worth the annual trip to Cosmos Way.

My friend and I began w/ the Spanish Wine Flight moving onto the Bordeauxs. The first glass of the flight was the only one w/ any depth behind it. Nose: burnt filet. We then had olives, which were great b/c they were obvisouly picked from somewhere close. Next the gnocchi. The texture was soft and melty just the way I like, but the sauce was questionable as it did not compliment the gnocchi very well. We also had the pollock (best I've had of pollock, which is not saying much) and rabbit. The rabbit came in a great portion size but vegetables coudl have been more inspiring. Overall good experience. I'm harsh what can I say.

I went to the bar last weekend and had an interesting time. The bar is surrounded by simulated blobs. Yeah that is the best way I could describe it. We had some overpriced champage but I suppose you don't go there for more than the 'experience.' They make you wait in a line outside but once you go inside there is obviously enough space for everyone. Their liquor selection was definitely a plus.

Being a law student I live in coffee shops half of my life. This is a find. I saw that there was one review of this restaurant and was compelled to write. This is one of the best places for Vietnamese. We often go to Burma Superstar only to find that there is an unreasonable time for a table. This place is a good choice for healthy, delicious Vietnamese. Their fish sauce is great. I always get #26, and you make your own rolls or the #27 is beef in hot vinegar in which again you make your own rolls. The rolls are in the spring roll style. This place is truly a gem in inner richmond!
try it.

Went to lunch here w/ prospective business parteners. Casual enough so we could chat it up, but not so lax that I felt uncomfortable in a suit. The forest salad was a bit bare (good however) but the rice/ tofu dish was great. Note however they add on tip automatically. We made the mistake of leaving double tip.

We spent $150 between the three of us last week. I left hungry. The wine was okay. I have some expectations being a student and spending that type of dough. Good point: comfortable scene, good service. Bad Points: the menu tries to be creative but overall not so complex flavors. If I were a guy and wanted to impress a girl who didn't know too much about food & wine, I'd definintely take her here.

I try to go to places that people rave about w/ low expectations. Even w/ low expecations, I can't say I would go again. Good points: pinot decent ( don't know about $9/glass), flat bread okay, ambiance okay. Bad Points: slow service, been there done that food, high prices for what you get. However, i was not going to give it a negative rating b/c it is different and okay. I suppose I might try it again. I don't know....

I am in disbelief that this place has the number of positive ratings as it does. I have given this place 3 chances. Each time I have eaten here, it has been w/ different people. Every person I have eat w/ has said how anticlimactic this place has been. The menu sounds way better than the actual food. Again, I am in disbelief

I felt as if I were back in Paris. I had never had foie gras in a pate form before, and it was not bad. I still like it in the actual liver form. Tuna tartar a bit too mayo based for me. However the scallops were cooked perfectly and in a delicious butter sauce w/ lobster risotto. Halibut was amazing. They also have a blood orange vodka dessert. Yummy.
