This is definitely a 'not so secret,' cheap eats place for tasty Vietnemese noodle dishes! Try the vermicelli noodles with beef (#18) and special sauce! Its my favorite and the portions are big so come with an appetite.
Its tucked away off 6th Street and Market so don't let the neighborhood deter you from at least ordering to go. I think sitting at the counter, right by the action is an experience in itself. The staff are usually quite friendly, especially if you are a regular (which I'm sure nearly everyone is)!

Red Box sushi is BRAND SPANKING new and just opened! And only the hipsters who are 'in the know' (and that means everyone here on SFsurvery.com now!) can experience the amazing and creative sushi rolls available for the first time ever in our beautiful city!
Joe, the owner and sushi chef has an impressive background, working at other sushi joints for many years here in the Bay area before going out on his own this month! The atmosphere is tres hip with a warm and inviting decor.
Definitely try the Red Box roll and the Buddha roll! And then, ask Joe to suprise you and he will come up with some 'off the menu' creations for only his favorite patrons and those that sit at the bar! (don't forget to have some sake with Joe too!)
Don't let the neighborhood (its near the Tenderloin) scare you off, because its steps away from the Bambuddha Bar lounge at the hip Phoenix Hotel. Check it out!

The presence at Grand Cafe's formal dining room is majestic. The wait staff and hostess definitely make you feel well tended to. The Sonoma Duck Breast with rosemary sauce was delectable! If you have time before dinner, tour around the hotel fireplace lounge just before you get to the formal dining room. With its oversized sofa and chairs and colorful artwork, it makes for a playful ambience before heading onto dinner!

Great place for lunch if you can get a reservation! Stylish and hip decor yet warm and inviting. The duck at lunch was impeccable! My guest raved about their burgers also! The desserts are heavenly...so try the cheesecake!

To experience the closest thing to the outdoor cafe's on the streets of Paris, try Cafe Bastille in the charming area of Belden Lane. Located in the cozy alley of French and Italian restaurants with outdoor seating, will make for good people watching. The halibut lunch special was excellent! The Pomme Frite appetizer was nothing to be desired...cold fries and mayonaisey tasting "aioli" sauce. Waiters with French accents will surely make you feel like you are in France at lunch!

A favorite Noe Valley local joint. If you are looking for a laid back, warm and cozy atmosphere, this is the place. Try the Haystack pizza, its a classic! The salads are huge but nothing special. Its the pizza that keeps me coming back!
