LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Great sandwiches. These are the best I have had and I have eaten many. You can not beat the $2.50 price tag and if there is a line, it moves fast. Do not be afraid to try the desserts on the counter and I recommend the steam buns.

Currently rating as "neutral" based upon my one time eating there. The service was horrible. Hire some wait staff instead of one guy trying to service the whole restaurant. Very slow. Great menu and Great prices. When the food did come out, it was excellent. Two of us split the following: Massa salad, Cabo San Lucas, Lanzhou and Chocolate Mousse. Everything was great. Timing between the appetizers/salad and the entree was poor. I am going to go again and see if it was just an off night.

Great Experience. Waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about their wine list. Since the wine list did not have as many of the usual suspects that you see around town (this is a good thing) we settled on the Andrew Lane Gamay Noir - great suggestion from the waiter. Started off with the Tuna Tartar with cucumbers, followed by the tofu salad and the fennel salad (loved the bacon wrapped dates), main course of Pan Fried Cod and the Pork Roast Loin, finishing up the night with the Chocolate Molten cake. Everything paired up nicely and I will definitely be back. David - great job and thank you for the sfsurvey voucher.

Small restaurant, around 14 tables, on Valencia St. The night I was there, the special of the evening was dungeness crab. I was fortunate and got the last special they had. Price was great $14.95 and the sauce it was served in was excellent.

I have been to the restaurant a few times and have always enjoyed my meal. It has never been busy or crowded. Sign out front says they are under new management. This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but if you ever shopping at Best Buy, Office Max, Rainbow Groceries, etc and have a taste for Vietnamese or Thai - I recommend you stop by. Menu is mainly Vietnamese, Pho, Bun, rice dishes, some Thai noodle dishes including Pad Thai, plus many soups. Reasonable prices with most dishes between $6.95 to $8.95.

I found this to be a really nice little restaurant. Prices are very reasonable, waitstaff was good, and food was excellent. I had two pork medallions w/ gargonzola cheese that was outstanding and had fresh mozzarella with tomato and olive oil on crustini.

Food not good. I knew what I was getting into before coming here, but thought my 3 yr old daughter would like this place, since she cannot get enough of the zoo. Turns out I was wrong - the loud animal noises and thunderstorms scared her and we had to leave. Maybe when she is older - but if she does not suggest that we go back - I will not be disappointed.

Have only been here for breakfast. Portions are huge for the low low price. For $4.00 you can get two eggs, toast, hash browns or home fries, and a banana. Unfortunately their coffee is awful - very bitter. Place is small - not a negative. Hashbrowns are usually overcooked - or extra crispy depending on your point of view.

I believe it is a husband and wife that run this place. Both are very friendly and are good at remembering me - even though I do not make it in there but once every 6 weeks or so. Booths and vinyl covered stools, both very worn out and some new upholstery is definitely needed - but that keeps John's in the running for dive restaurants. They always have two complete newspapers that they have purchased and keep available for customers to read.

Dive Diner - love the long sit down bar with the vinyl covered stools. Large booths are also available. Eggs - however you want, hashbrowns, omelets, pancakes, french toast, ham, steak, hamburger patty, etc. The owner is really nice and so is the wait staff. If you did not bring your paper along there is usually at least part of a paper left behind that you can pick up and read. They have lunch and dinner - I have had neither and have never looked at anything but the breakfast section of the menu.

Old diner - I love dive diners and this is one of them. See my other dive diner reviews. If you order coffee it is served in a random coffee cup that I am not sure if they picked up at a garage sale, were donated to the diner or what. The family that runs this place is great. I have been told by many that if you like grits - Eddie's is the place. I do not like grits - so I cannot comment.

Reservations were not available, but thought we would take a stab at it anyhow. Lucked out - when we walked in a couple got up from the bar. We had dinner there. I had my doubts based upon reviews and what I have heard from others since they relocated to the Ferry building. The food was very tasty and was quite flavorful. My date thought the bathrooms to be an interesting twist. I will definitely be back.

Liked this place. Atmosphere - spread out - did not feel like you were on top of other tables. Multiple levels - very nice. Wait staff was good - little slow on keeping the water glasses full, but otherwise no complaints. Food was good and I thought it was reasonably priced. Place is kid friendly and runs a kids night on Tuesdays - have not been there on a Tuesday so I am not sure how crazy it is, but be aware that it is kids night.

I like Pepito's a bit more than Victor's and at lunch time this place is always busy. A lot of times there is a line out the door - but I will tell you a secret - go on inside and there is a second counter/ordering area "the grill" and you can walk right up and place your order. The menu is limited, but has tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. The chicken fajita burrito and chicken quesadilla are my favorites.

Can you say carnivorous heaven. Burgers any way you like them or take it a step towards the healthier side and have the same creation on a turkey burger or chicken sandwich. Steak fries and curly fries were awesome. Recommend the shakes as well. Had the Oreo cookie shake - good stuff. We had the onion rings as well - batter was a bit too heavy/thick for me. Barney's salad selection took me by surprise. Good selection but have never had one.

Waitress was friendly and pretty attentive. Even asked if we were catching a play - wanted to make sure that the service did not make us feel rushed or make us late. Nice touch. I felt the menu was a bit limiting, but had no problem finding many things to order. Had the halibut - outstanding w/ baby sweet pea pods and carrots. We split a ceasar salad and wrapped up w/ the flour less chocolate cake - boy is that rich. I liked the seating and all of the windows making it a well lit restaurant.

Yeah it is crazy here and the wait can be long. I have actually never had bad service - a lot of chaos - yes, but not bad service. Mooshu pork is awesome along with their green beans. As long as you order things that you will eat - I think you will like this place. I know this place is high on the tourist route, but the two times I have been there - I have had a great meal and great service. I only sit at the sushi bar - so your experience may differ at a table - Sushi chef was awesome - just told him what we liked - maguro, unagi, spicy scallops, sake, hamachi and he did the rest - even made killer spicy "french fries" - calamari tentacles per our request. The wait is long - but that is how it is at every good sushi bar.
