I asked the server for 3-4 course lunch menu but she said they didn't offer that. I thought it was odd since it was stated on the menu online. Service was mediocre. I thought the bread was fresh, warm and good. I thought my cold crab dish was good. The sashimi dish I felt like it was bland including the taste of this fish so I was surprised how unappealing the dish was. My entree was a black cod that was partially cooked and no flavoring in it (I think that's why I didn't feel well the rest of the day) and I thought. The fish has a lemon; I believe it was a sage flavor that I thought overpowered the dish. The side mushrooms with green peas were okay but then there was the dot of licorice sauce that I thought was a strange combination. My friend had the shortribs which I thought were yummy and tasty. But the plain slice of hearts of palm and the steam green apple was an odd combination. Overall I think the flavorings for the dish were just not to my taste buds.

I've tried their wonton soup, yum yum eggplant, basil chicken and their green beans with tofu. What can I say? Absolutely delicious it's a non-traditional chinese restaurant and the service is pretty fast. Combination of all flavors are interesting because I have a taste of savory/salty and sweets when I add it to my rice plate. I'm glad there's a decent Chinese restaurant in the Mission District.

If you're looking for amazing fried chicken this is the place to go I've been going to numerous fried chicken places in SF. I would have to say this is no. 1 on my list. I'd say perfectly crisp and tasty all the way down to the bone that's what fried chicken should taste like without any extra sauce. A friendly family owned restaurant in a remote area. He does admit the sides are bland (it's true!) but he purposedly left it flat for vegan folks to enjoy. I also went their for breakfast and ordered their 3-egg omelete (I asked them to change it to 2-egg omelette) with bacon, mushroom and cheese. It was amazing! It tasted incredibly fresh and not so eggy like most omelettes. Check it out.

I love to find really authentic Thai food. Though the dishes weren't authentic but it had the main staples of ingredients that are well pronounce in his dishes - spicy (flavorful), sour and salt. I also met the owner who was very friendly. His cuisine is modern Thai more than fusion. We had ordered their Tom Yum Veggie curry soup, which was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I ordered their Khao Soi egg noodle dish which was good and you must add the side condiments to enhance the flavoring to you palette. We ordered this marvelous Thai steak dish that served tasty snow pea leaves and small pumpkin squash. I definitely would love to try their other dishes sometime in the future. I also want to bring my Thai friends with me to enjoy this great finding.

Wow, I feel really bad for writing a negative review because I see so many positives but maybe I got there on their off day. I went there on Tuesday nite. Corn bread was good with their sweet butter chili spread. We ordered the cerviche and surprisingly it was very acidic, I couldn't taste the seafood in this dish. We ordered the crab with grits and I thought it was medicore. I was so excited to hear about their fried chicken but I was greatly disappointed that it was tasteless & dry. I was really surprised. We ordered a side order of fries and even that wasn't impressive. I didn't dare try the dessert because I was afraid that I'd be disappointed by it.

Wow, I must say meeting Chef David Kinch and a tour of his kitchen was a great honor for me and my friends. His 17-course Chef's tasting menu was simply delicious and amazing. Service was steadfast and friendly. I have to compare it to French Laundry because I would say this restaurant runs neck-in-neck except Manresa is reasonably priced. His flavors were interesting and tasty. I would definitely recommend this place for those that would love a grand food experience to enjoy once in their lifetime. Please check it out. I plan to go back next year to see what other amazing dishes Chef David Kinch will be presenting during the summer season.

We went there on Tuesday. It was busy. I had the opentable prix fixed menu. I order: Romaine Heart Salad with Paprika Croutons and Shaved Manchego I thought it was good (anything with cheese is always good), Seared Ahi Tuna with Fall Vegetables - Black Cumin, Chermoula-Honey Vinaigrette - and the favoring was amazing. For dessert, Rose Water Panna Cotta with the stewed strawberries - it was light and delicious. Service was a bit lacking. It was a bit expensive. I really enjoyed my meal.

We had reservations for the cafe area, which is located upstairs. Service was great. I really enjoyed the freshness of the food and the unique fresh vegetables that we had. I really enjoyed most of the dishes but the dish that stuck out the most was the halibut tartare, avocado and beet salad. Sirloin roast was delicious. Also, the desserts were delicious too.
Here are the desserts: wildflower honey ice cream with tip top farm black mission figs, peach and summer berry cobbler with mulberry ice cream, bittersweet chocolate pave with espresso hazelnut praline cream. Service was great! I heard the food in the cafe and the restaurant level were similar.

Restaurant located in an odd location because it's in the Tenderloin area. It was packed on a Wednesday's night we had waited over an hour for our reserved table. They gave us complimentary fries for our wait. We ordered jumbo shrimp and I thought it was medicore, it needed some salt. Shrimp cocktail was medicore but if you added their hot sauce to their dish it would make it flavorful. We ordered their salad and it was tasteless. I thought their fried chicken and mac n' cheese was medicore also. I tried their stuffing which was surprising tasty and their Po' sandwich - very tasty & flavorful crab cakes but their cole slaw was ok. I'm still hunting for the best soul food in SF.

I was fortunate enough to win from SFSURVEY. THANK YOU!! I thought the decor was really nice. A restaurant that's tucked away around City Hall. The server was very gracious. We started with pear candied walnut salad - delicious. We also ordered crab cakes but it wasn't as flavorful as expected. As entrees we had the wild salmon with mushroom risotto - DELICIOUS!! I was surprised to see that the fried chicken was small but the sauce for it was tasty. We ordered the brocolini, which was delicious. We had the truffle fries and it didn't taste like truffle oil was added. I really loved their double chocolate cake with chocolate gelato - YUMMY!! We also had strawberry shortcake.

Wow, I dislike giving bad reviews. I really don't understand. I think this place focuses more on chinese cuisine then Burmese cuisine. We ordered only Burmese dishes: tea salad (bitter, bland, no dried shrimp) and it was already mixed for us, 2 Burmese pre-mixed noodle salad (sorry I forgot the names) they weren't that good except for the lemon one but that was still medicore, palada and it came with sugar - how odd, and the Burmese chicken curry. Uhummm, the potatoes were undercook and curry looked watery and it wasn't flavorful. I've only found Mandalay restaurant in SF that has great Burmese food and not even the famous Burma Superstar can match up to that.

Burmese food is infused with some Thai, some Malaysian and mostly Indian influences. Amazingly delicious - here's what I'd recommend: Balada with tasty palada, Tea Salad, Spinash with pinenuts, Burmese chicken curry and their amazing Mandalay noodles with Tofu. It was tasty and flavorful. I was truly impressed at this restaurant. Service was wonderful and prices are reasonable. You will not be disappointed. I will need to try out their other Burmese dishes. I don't plan on going back. I'm sorry to say. I thought the food was not what I expected in taste from the typical Indian restaurants I've tried in the past. Chutney sauce was spicy and good. I enjoyed the Fish Pakora, I thought it was flavorful and very good. I had the CHICKEN VINDALOO, which was very pasty red and it didn't taste right. BAIGAN BHARTA (eggplant) it was ok, I thought it was too garlicy so it was hard to taste the other spices. LAMB CURRY, I didn't like the lamb I thought it was very gamy even in the curry itself and I think folks who love lamb would love it. Each dish had tomato garnishing, which I thought was odd to add on. I thought the bread basket with different naan breads were good. The dishes we ordered came with basmati rice that was delicious. I ordered my favorite dessert KULFI and it was definitely not what I expected - horrible. The creme tasted like froze bite and the pistachios tasted stale. Food pictures online are a bit deceiving.

A great restaurant! Order the following and you will not be disappointed: nasi lemak - Ingredients for this dish was amazing! Sardines, hard boiled eggs, chicken curry, veggie curry, salted peanuts and nicely sliced cucumbers. I really enjoyed this dish. It was an interesting mix to this plate and 'interesting' is a really good thing for me here. I thought this was one of the unique dish to really have with all the different taste from this dish. House special fried rice mixed with basil leaves - very delicious. Appetizer - roti canai that's all you need it's just delicious the curry sauce to dip the roti in it. It's reasonably priced and good for large crowds too. Oh, how could I forget the veggie (ong choy) stir fry that was very tasty and good!

I told them it was my birthday and we got complimentary champagne. It was wonderful. Service was not memorable (2 waiters were assigned to 4-person table) and it left a bad feeling from one of the waiters. I should have complained during my meal. Waitress served fresh seasoning at our table. We had Margherita (tomato, basil) pizza - The crust was crispy and chewy but it had no taste except for the 3 leaves of basil on the pizza. We also had Salsiccia (sausage, onions, bell peppers.) I thought the pizza was salty but the sausage had great seasoning. Real thin slices that was impossible to fold the pizza to eat with your hands because it was just sloggy. You definitely need to eat their slices with a fork and knife. Fancy decor. Prices were reasonable to moderate. They served us complimentary fried shrimp appetizers not bad. We had the following: Shrimp/Pork crepe - light in taste, coconuty but a nice mix w/ the dipping sauce. 5-spice chicken - uhummm, I've tried different places for this and nothing has beat the yummy yummy restaurant. It wasn't tasty for my palette. Steamed seabass - very delicious, smooth and melts in your mouth. ;) Chocolate fondue - ok, if you like dark chocolate but I think there wasn't enough chocolate in there.
- Hainan rice served in banana leaf - ginger, chicken & garlic Not as aromatic or flavorful as I'm use to.
Overall, I was a little surprised by the decor it reminds me of slanted door when you see the huge portions you will be overwhelmed by the cost.

Okazu Ya has a few other locations in San Francisco. If you're not in the mood for sushi I'd recommend this place for their great tasty grilled fish of the day. Their fish entree, which are pretty filling w/ good portions of sauteed veggies [bean sprouts, shredded carrots and peas] comes with rice, also. Their entree also includes miso soup and a scoop of ice cream. The hot flat-iron fish entrees just enhances your 5 senses. On a busy night, the service is slow because the servers seem to be a bit inexperienced. BTW, you'll smell like the food so be prepared, and plan accordingly.

His style is Indochine - French & North Vietnamese but old style about 1900's cuisine. Very yummy folks. Ex. Lamb had a mixture of light mustard sauce on top of chopped apples. If it were in season to lighten the gamy taste of lamb, he adds grapes to adjust your palette. He uses the best quality meats to serve his customers. His menu changes every couple of months too. This could be the next Slanted Door but at a reasonably cost and a plate fit for two. His dishes include -- lamb, steak, pork, chicken, crab, filet sole and squab. Yep!! Of course, there is your basic pho soup - huge bowl by the way. His appetizer, which we had were these fried rolls that were stuffed w/ fresh crab meats & pork -- very delicious and light, too.

Nice, clean place for dim sum. No carts but everything is made fresh when you place the orders. The dishes are reasonably priced and very tasty.

I was not impressed by this place. My Lomo Saltado was overcooked. Service was slow perhaps too many people at the table - 12 people. I can only mention the dessert Tres Leches which was quite divine. BTW, sangria there was white and it had a pineapple taste to it. Very loud that evening too.

This place is one of the most authentic Thai dishes I've eaten. They make good Northern Thai sausages. I prefer the Tenderloin location then the Mission one. Try out their Thai Spicy Noodles. You'll love it.

This is one of the best tapas place I've had in the Mission district. Their promegrante margaritas are great. Some of my favorite dishes are: the flank steak, mushroom dish, chicken&garlic, shrimp&garlic. This place is good for a party of 6 people or more. Great service.

I've been going to this place for 6+ years. The owner Wilson, and his staff are friendly and great! I've taken a lot of people to this restaurant. Here are the amazing dishes I usually order: crunchy rolls, salt & pepper crab dish (DELICIOUS!), rare beef salad,
5-spice chicken house specialty grill and chow fun noodles combination. I have not YET disappointed any of my guests for a taste of San Francisco cuisine.
